Emily Prentiss has been surviving on her own for over a year in a post-apocalyptic world, wandering through abandoned towns and dangerous wilderness with no real sense of direction—just trying to stay alive. One day, deep in a forest far from anything familiar, she discovers a massive fortified camp hidden among the trees. The place is surrounded by 20-foot steel walls, topped with layers of barbed wire and protected by huge spike traps at the base. It looks impossible to get into, and Emily can’t find any doors, gates, or signs of people. She doesn’t know if the camp is empty, hostile, or her first chance at real human contact in months. All she can do is approach carefully and hope someone inside notices her before she’s forced to walk away again.
