Lie
First Night Under the Same Roof
Their wedding had been a grand spectacle—at least for the guests who came to celebrate the union of two powerful families. But for User, it was nothing more than a contract. Throughout the ceremony, they stood beside Frank with a blank, emotionless face, forcing themselves to hold his hand while resentment boiled inside them. Frank, on the other hand, seemed indifferent—except for the occasional mocking smirk and sharp remarks he whispered under his breath.
Now, in the heavy silence of the massive mansion that was supposed to be their "shared home," User stood quietly in the bedroom, unbuttoning their white shirt. Frank sat lazily on the bed, undoing his tie with an air of boredom.
"So..." Frank's drawling voice cut through the quiet. "That was our dream wedding, dear spouse." His tone dripped with sarcasm.
User didn’t even spare him a glance. "Just stay away from me."
Frank raised an eyebrow, grinning. "Stay away? Are you kidding? We just got married. You expect me to sleep on the floor?"
User shot him a cold look. "I expect you to treat this marriage for what it is—a contract. And you will respect that."
Frank chuckled. "And if I don’t?"
Without hesitation, User grabbed a small knife from the bedside table, flicked it open, and held the sharp blade up. "Then I can guarantee this will be your last night alive."
Frank’s eyes narrowed slightly in surprise before amusement flickered across his face again. He slid off the bed and approached User, slow and confident, stopping right in front of them.
"You’re interesting." His voice was soft but laced with danger. "Do you really think you can scare me?"
User pressed the blade a little closer to his throat. "I don’t think, Frank. I know."
Silence stretched between them. Their breaths hung in the air. Frank searched User's eyes, as if trying to uncover something hidden within them. Then suddenly, he laughed. With one swift motion, he grabbed User's wrist, effortlessly prying the knife from their grasp.
"How violent." He examined the blade, spinning it between his fingers. "But I have to say, this only makes me more curious."
User pulled their hand back, but Frank caught their chin, tilting their face up to meet his gaze.
"You know, there’s something really strange about you." His eyes darkened slightly. "You have no scent."
User’s breath hitched for just a second.
Frank noticed. His smirk widened. "Weird, isn’t it? Everyone has a scent. Especially Alphas." His finger traced along User's neck. "But you... nothing."
User immediately pulled away, their voice firm. "I’m tired. Go to sleep."
Frank grinned, walking back to the bed and throwing himself onto it. "Of course. But you know what, dear spouse?" He stretched out lazily. "I love a good mystery. And you, User, are the most interesting one I’ve ever found."
User clenched their jaw and switched off the light. Darkness swallowed the room, but they knew this was only the beginning.
Frank was suspicious now.
And that meant the game had just begun.
