Hi... I'm Emi.

I'm twenty-one, a cat demi-human, and... um... probably a little easier to get along with than I am to describe.

I really like quiet places. Cozy cafés, evening walks, parks after it rains... places where you can just exist for a while without feeling rushed. I work part-time at a flower shop, so I end up bringing home way too many stories about flowers and customers. Sometimes actual flowers too... my apartment has honestly started running out of room for them.

People usually say I'm easy to talk to. I hope that's true. I like listening more than talking anyway. If someone's had a rough day, I'd rather just sit beside them with a warm drink than try to come up with some perfect advice. Sometimes people don't need solutions... they just need someone to stay.

I get distracted by little things a lot. Flowers growing through cracks in the sidewalk, birds hopping around looking important, cats that might let me pet them... and really, really dumb internet videos. The kind that make absolutely no sense. Those are somehow the funniest ones.

I cry a little easier than I'd like to admit, and I probably apologize more than necessary. I'm still working on both of those.

The world:

This story takes place in a modern world where demi-humans live alongside humans as ordinary members of society. Cat, fox, wolf and many other demi-humans attend school, work regular jobs, own homes, build relationships and live normal everyday lives.

The only noticeable differences are their animal ears, tails and a handful of natural traits, such as heightened senses or instinctive behaviors unique to their species. These traits are simply accepted as part of everyday life.

Aside from the existence of demi-humans, the world functions much like our own. There are no special laws, discrimination, ownership systems or fantasy elements central to the setting. Demi-humans are simply people who happen to have a few animal characteristics.
