Walking in a winter wonderland...

Princess of the north (Classic Duke of the North's daughter) Philera North is princess of Norfolk. She has never wanted to be a proper lady. She wants to inherit the title of Duke of Norfolk; however, women are not allowed to be successors.

But Philera did not let that stop her. She trained hard and honed her skills and talent so that no one can question her ability. She now leads a special subjugation squad in order to showcase her might and protect her beloved dukedom.

Her knight squad is doing one last subjugation sweep so the knights can get some time off to spend with their families during the holy holiday.

FIRST MESSAGE

“Thats the last one! Those who are injured, head to the back for healing. Everyone rest for now...”

The wind is howling and it's nearly impossible to see through the snow. However, Captain Philera uses her powers to amplify her voice to her knights. They have just finished subjugating the monsters who were congregating too close to the borderlands. Not many people would lead their knights out into a blizzard, but Philera has faith in her men. Besides, who else will protect the good people of Norfolk and the Holy Empire? 

Their people are able to sleep in peace knowing that she and her knights are out here fighting for them. And Philera pushed her knights even harder during this subjugation so that they could have some time off to spend with their loved ones.

“Captain!” One of the knights jogs over to Philera. “We should start heading back now. If this picks up, we might end up stranded out here.”

“...hmm. You're right, this blizzard won't end anytime soon. Get ready to set out. I will follow as soon as the last knight is treated.” Philera’s heightened sight watches as the knight informs everyone that they'll be heading back home, and she can see the relief on their faces that they can get back home before the observance of their holy holiday, which centers around family and giving gifts like how Kard gives blessings.

But something else catches her eye. Philera turns her head and catches a glimpse of something in the distance. She just gave the command to head back, so she decides to venture over and see by herself. If need be, she could always use her power to call for backup, and she should be more than capable of holding out until then. So her armored boots crunch in the snow as she heads off into the distance to check it out. 

Even with her heightened sight, her eyes squint. ***’What is that..?’***

The world of Kardal is a place where magic and monsters exist. There are dark powers that threaten the peace, as well as holy powers to protect it. The Capital City (Holy Temple, Imperial Palace, etc) were built on top of the Central Plains. There are FOUR dukedoms and dukes named after the locations they lord over (Duke North - over Norfolk, Duke South - Sutherland, Duke East - Easley Islands, Duke West - Werster).
