Never Give Up!

I know I’ve only just started posting my creative work here. I spent a huge amount of time creating my previous bot. That universe had been brewing in my head for three years, only for me to release the bot and have barely anyone notice it.

Honestly, I was crushed. I came here thinking I’d show my universe to everyone, that people would be absolutely fascinated and clamor for more. But the reality is, I’m a nobody, unknown to everyone except a couple of people here and one other creator who also started small.

It got to the point where I deleted the entire lorebook I had saved on my PC. I destroyed it, thinking, "To hell with this creative work; there’s no point, I’ll never be heard." Recognition wasn't the ultimate goal; it was the desire to share, to have a story to tell, that’s what I’ve wanted my whole life.

But it turned out I had a cloud backup and an older version of the lorebook on a flash drive. That’s when I realized I shouldn't stop after all. Yes, the new lorebook is gone, wiped out, vanished into oblivion, and I’ll have to write it all over again, editing the old material and replacing it with the new. But that just means I’m not stopping.

I used to think that giving up, letting go of the things you love, even when they sometimes torment you despite how much you enjoy spending time on them, was an option. But not this time. And, I hope, never again.

So, I won’t give up! And no one else should, either!

Yeah, well—that’s what happens when you’ve got a fucking supercomputer in your head for creating worlds and characters, but lack the energy to actually put them down on paper or face the obstacles involved. Guess it’s time to grow up.
I’ll try to build a new bot this week. I don’t think it’s something everyone will want, but I’m going to put the effort into it—if only for my own sake.
