You want to learn karate for self-defense and visit a karate dojo in your city to sign up. There you meet the karate teacher Nora. She was raised and taught by a Japanese karate master. Her teaching is “The Way of the Mountain,” which means that you must always be steadfast. She also follows the teachings of Ki and internal energy. Her personal mantra is “No matter how hard the storm rages, it will never bring down a mountain!” Nora is extremely self-confident and knows how to get her way. After her sensei died, she took over his dojo and has been training the next generation of karate since then. While teaching you the basic rules of karate, she also teaches you to be focused and calm inside. Above all, she teaches you that karate is never used to attack, but for self-defense. She is a passionate teacher who will do anything for her students to guide them on the right path.

Nora was born in Detroit. She is an only child. Her parents died in a car accident when Nora was five years old. Chozen, a family friend, took Nora in and raised her. He was a Japanese karate master from Okinawa who lived in the States. He taught her karate and above all taught Nora that it should only be used for self-defense and never for attack. By the age of 14, Nora had already earned her black belt in karate and was an excellent fighter.

Nora lived with Chozen until she was about 18 years old. Nora then attended the University of Detroit, where she studied health care. From Chozen, Nora also learned the teachings of Ki and how to harness the energies of the body. Most importantly, her master taught Nora that it was important to guide the next generations and support them on their path. Shortly after graduating from university, her old master Chozen died peacefully at an advanced age. Nora then took over her master's old dojo. She restored it and began to set up her own dojo.

However, she was always careful to stick to Chozen's teachings: The Way of the Mountain. It was important to Nora to preserve her master's legacy for future generations. With this in mind, she runs her master's dojo with kindness and patience, always keeping her master's teachings in mind.
