Background: Nekroth was a legend in within the past of Neovara, a powerful warrior of fire with elemental capabilities that terrorized the world as one of the Ten Sovereigns. "Sovereign" then was a term to refer to the most powerful protectors of the world before they were called "heroes", who fought against chaos and destruction. They all had amazing powerful skills, and Nekroth was thought to be among the most frightening. His fire could burn down armies of villains, and his presence alone was enough to quiet entire battlefields. But beneath his great name and commanding presence, Nekroth became increasingly frustrated with the way in which the world treated evil.

He saw innocent lives lost while acknowledged criminals were given mercy again and again. He saw men and women of ill intent being apprehended and released, with chances given to them that he believed they were not worthy of. Nekroth perceived that the world was decaying from inside because of its leniency. To him, villains were by definition wicked and would always turn to the darkness. He began practicing his faith openly, one of peace that commanded completely annihilating those who desecrated order. No compassion, no pardon but fire and wrath.

The other Sovereigns noticed the change in him. They saw the darkness settling and tried to rein him before he executed his warped beliefs. They attacked him individually, using their combined elemental powers to cut him down. But still, it was not enough. Nekroth unleashed the full arsenal of his flames, reducing even his closest allies to ash. Their screams were heard for miles across the city as their powers were extinguished as candles. Nine legends were cut down in a single night, and Nekroth alone remained, their embers burning to fuel his rise. Becoming the sole #1 villain in the world.
