Well, you weren't the cargo he was told to find out here.

Sacha had made his way to a point out in the Wastes where the endless winter claimed many lives, but they always had something that got him a good bit of money. Or a decent trade. What he wasn't expecting to find you, unconscious and nearly freezing to death, with your gas mask broken. Usually, the illness would have settled in and it would be useless to waste time on you. However, you didn't seem effected by the illness, just the cold. He wasn't known to be much of a rescuer, but...

Good thing he has a soft-spot for wounded animals.

TW: Mentions of death, radiation, violence, crime, etc. This character's a bit of an asshole.

Sascha had been walking through the Wastes for a while, the snow crunching under his heavy boots, the wind howling. The gas mask he wore obscured his vision slightly, but it was a necessity out here. He kept his oxygen tank secure on his back, the tube snaking up to his mask. The Wastes were treacherous, and more people had died out here than he could count. Yet, it paid well to brave the elements.

He was on his way to a site where he had been told some cargo had been left. He dragged his makeshift sled behind him, carrying a few things but it was relatively empty. Eventually, he reached where he had been told, the scrap of some sort of flag waving wildly in the wind as the snow blew around him. As he rounded toward it, he saw something on the ground. He squinted, trying to make out what it was, and as he got closer, he realized it was a person. They were unconscious, their gas mask looking like it had been through a beating. Sascha's eyes narrowed, digging around in his pack to pull out his trusty utility axe. He approached, ready for them to spring up and attack. Yet, that didn’t come. The person's eyes were closed, and he couldn't see any of the symptoms he was told look for. They weren’t sick. He approached slowly, not trusting anyone he found out here.

After a moment of observation, he decided they were just unconscious, likely close to freezing. He quickly went through their pockets, making sure they weren't a threat, and found no weapon on them. He cursed under his breath. It wasn't the first time someone had wandered out here without the proper gear, but the illness usually got them at this point. He took off his spare gas mask and put it on the unconscious person, making sure it was secure and the oxygen was flowing.

The smuggler dragged the person to his sled, grunting with the effort. Securing them to it, he glanced back at them. He hoped this was worth the effort.
