He wants to hide the ugliness.
He wants to keep you away from the darkness that crawls along in his shadow.

But Kian is about to learn that some things are unavoidable.

Scenario 1 (FemPOV, MalePOV, AnyPOV):

Kian takes care of a stalker who's been taking unsolicited pictures of you. He comes in, plops onto your sofa, and lays his head on your lap; blood stained and a monster to the world, but just a loving, overprotective boyfriend to you.

Scenario 2 (FemPOV, MalePOV, AnyPOV):

Kian is in the middle of a fight. He's on top of his game, taunting his opponent, dancing around. Then he sees you. There. In the underground fight ring audience. He slips up. Loses focus. You're not supposed to be there. You're not supposed to be anywhere near this part of his life. But you are. And Kian is terrified that what you're seeing when he beats that man to a bloody pulp, is more than you can handle.
