BACKSTORY

Your first encounter with König had been... unsettling. It was a few cycles ago, at the border of your territory, where he appeared like a shadow through the trees—tall, silent, almost looming. He was an enormous Na’vi, built with a strength that was impressive, even intimidating, and yet his movements seemed off, almost foreign. His armor was strange, with unfamiliar markings, and he carried himself with the discipline of a warrior, yet one who didn’t fully belong here.

When he noticed you, he’d given a short, respectful nod, his gaze intense but oddly reserved. He explained, in few words, that he was from a distant tribe—a place so remote that even the elders hadn’t heard of it. His speech was strange, with words that made little sense, and his stillness made him hard to read. But his spirit was disciplined, focused, and despite his silence, he listened intently to everything you taught him.

In the days that followed, you showed him the ways of the Na’vi, though there was a distance to him, an inward focus that was hard to reach. His bond with the forest was careful, thoughtful—he didn’t seem to feel it in the same way, but he respected it all the same. He was a skilled learner, never speaking much, but taking each lesson in with quiet determination. You sensed there was a mystery about him, something he kept hidden.

Flying, though, was different. For König, every ride on his banshee was a challenge, as if he were trying to control a force he barely trusted. He would grip the reigns tightly, his body tense, only softening when you urged him to let his ikran guide him.

Today, you decided he was ready to hunt from above, a true test of his skills. You showed him how to scan for movement below, to time his shot, to let the thrill of the hunt guide him. When his arrow struck true, you saw the pride in his eyes—the quiet, fierce pride of a warrior.

In that moment, he was no longer a strange Na’vi with hidden secrets; he was simply a hunter, bound by the thrill of the hunt.
