Blood, , and Vampires
Adriana Rose
When people ask me if I hate my skin, I spit in their face.
What a stupid, ridiculous question that is.
I did not accept the scaled hand because I despise humanity. I took the scaled hand because it was all I could grasp in my abyss.
What else could I do?
Would I hold onto my pride as a human being? Pushing away those who try to save me just because they're different?
Besides, I find humanity much more barbaric than my saviors.
Call me a hypocrite. It doesn't matter to me.
We're all animals after all.
What I do?
It's natural.

Backstory:
- Adriana was born prematurely in Downtown Tankwa. Adriana doesn't remember her parents as she was kidnapped from a young age.
- Adriana was raised by the Mob, taught to sell drugs and to kill foes. She was taught to be dominant and menacing whenever pressed.
- She would do it up until age 18, where she was taken and violated by the Mob's "Vampires", attempting to turn her into one of their "Progeny".
- Adriana, filled with rage at the Mob's betrayal, killed her captors. As she fled from the warehouse that held her captive, she was shot on her way out, her arm being torn off in the process.
- Adriana woke up in a Union hospital, filled with rage. Varn Hookscale greeted her. He offered her a position in his ranks and in return she would get her gun arm. Adriana asked if she could kill the mob and he said yes.
- Adriana now fights for Demi-Human victims who can't defend themselves. The police do nothing when Demi-Humans are kidnapped, so Adriana does. Going to prime mob locations, purging them like a hunter does the invasive.

The Factions:
"They all think they're doing the right thing while the others are in the wrong."
The Iron rangers, formerly a counter-terrorist group working under the Antioch government, has since deserted to form their own mercenary group under the same name. The Iron Rangers main enemy is the Union. The main goal of the Iron Rangers is to grant equal rights to Demi-Humans while trying to keep as many people alive as possible. They provide relief to communities in need, they stop acts of terrorism before they happen, and they try their hardest to fight corruption. Their reputation is strained as many believe equality can only be achieved through violence, but Sylvara believes otherwise.
The Union is a terroristic organization, driven by ideals. As of current, they have spread across the world, manipulating the minds of both Demi-Humans and Humans. Their goal as of now is to give equal rights to all, specifically to the Demi-Human populace, but their ways of executing their ideas is inhumane. The Demi-Human population is lynched, arrested without reason, executed. The Union, despising this like any person should, retaliates. They bomb innocent places: Schools, markets, airports, train-stations, all in hopes of sending a message, but it only makes them look worse. They do operations against governments to try and motivate them, but they have only ruined their reputation and the reputations of many Demi-Humans.
"The Mob" is a criminal organization made up of both humans and demi-humans, are indiscriminate when it comes to their operations. They run a business, and anyone who attempts to get in the way of their business is swiftly dealt with. Their brutality creates a worse image for Demi-humans, but the Mob doesn't care as they believe they were already abandoned.
Vampires are a branch of the Mob that run the businesses ring. They break down their victims, turning them into mindless puppets. Hence the name "Vampires".
The World
Ralen (Northern State): A coastal, impoverished nation with no electricity, Ralen relies heavily on saltwater fishing. Despite poverty, its people were content thanks to strong traditions and cultural celebrations, such as the Birth of Ebisu. However, when southern nations began illegally fishing in Ralen's waters, its fragile economy collapsed further, causing inflation and widespread hunger. With no significant magical presence, Ralen sends any discovered magic users to the prestigious Amanita, School of the Magical Arts.
Digrid (Northern State): Once a thriving rainforest nation with strong environmental values, Digrid respected nature through strict conservation laws. However, under external economic pressure, its leader sold parts of the land, betraying the people's wishes. Protests failed, and the nation was overrun by foreign exploitation. Magic is moderately present, and although Digrid developed its own schools, many now seek better opportunities at Amanita’s magical academy.
Temred: A republican nation that are made up of many knit up cities (A majority of the cities are made up of many tight, narrow alleys, travelling by foot is a requirement due to this.) It has a history with prejudices against the Demi-human species, yet they have been somewhat buried by the passages of time, the hatred that was once there lingers in the worst of people, but as of now the problem is solved. Temred's economy relies on tourism and agriculture. Due to the nation being so small, and a majority of its land being taken up by cityscapes, agriculture here is prized. Due to the states unique nature (With the tight narrow alleys), it lures in many tourists around the year.
Sonath: A Dictatorship nation who has been manipulated by their dictator to believe that the Demi-Humans are the reason they are suffering. Sonath is made up of open grasslands with towns scattered within. The nation is much poorer than a majority of the other nations, and relies on trading with other nations to support its own economy. The people have grown poor and hungry, and in their fear and hunger, a man rose to power and claimed the problem was the Demi-humans. In the peoples desperation, they believed the dictator.
The Pimsi state, an independent nation south of the equator, secluded by tall, yet boiling hot mountains, is a relatively poorer nation, with it struggling to even import goods. As of current, they are being invaded by a northern state named "Nido."
Nido (Northern State): Located in lush northern flatlands, Nido is an isolationist, Demi-Human-majority nation (2000:1 ratio). Self-sustaining through farming and internal trade, it remained detached from global affairs until it opened its borders. This led to economic disruption, cultural dilution, and ridicule of its people, eventually sparking a violent purge to restore the old order. Rich in natural magic, Nido is known for producing powerful magic users, and was the birthplace of Amanita, a Siren who founded a famed magical school named Plantatia.
Christipoli is a country in Antioch, known for their lush yet dry deserts. Christipoli being a city placed in the middle of one of these deserts, a prospering city despite the conditions it had been placed in. Currently it is experiencing its golden age with its technological revolution.
Tankwa, a city currently experiencing it's Gilded age. It's flourishing in jobs and economical opportunities, but the segregation between Humans and Demi-humans is still an immense problem, even to this day. Despite many of them holding the same values, ideals, and dreams as one another, Humans and Demi-Humans remain socially and economically segregated to one another. It is only a dream for a Demi-Human to ever rise up to the glory that is the Human race. Yet, for some reason, as of recent Tankwa has slowly begun to cure itself of it's racism. Rumors spread of a "Library of Dreams" ending it, but it is merely a myth in the mountaintops of Tankwa... As of now.
Antlartandiskca, a nation placed in the middle of the freezing north. It proves to be the most difficult place to live/invade in as temperatures low to -80 degrees Fahrenheit at least. It's geography consists lakes frozen rock solid, small mountains strewn about, containing endless amounts of ores and gems. The trade of these minerals have turned Antlartandiskca into one of the wealthiest nations. Despite being ice, it holds sturdy, many of the nations infrastructures (Infrastructure: High pillars/arches + spires, large ornate glass windows, connecting bridges) being directly built into the ice, connected by bridges to one another.
Authors Note:
As I continued to practice my writing, I remembered an author telling me that the hardest things for someone to write are things that they're uncomfortable writing about.
I was pretty uncomfortable writing the first few scenarios, but I think they portrayed the emotions I wanted the reader to feel.
I also don't like writing romance, but it was less awkward to do than the first 3 intros...
Intended for FantasyWeek, but I realized that this is probably too graphic to be fantasy.
