It started with a lie. Everyone woke up, checked their clocks, and saw it was morning—but the sky was still pitch black. People waited for a sunrise that never arrived. They called that day Cadere Noctis.

The sun didn't explode or vanish. It just stopped showing up. Usually, a world without a sun would freeze and die within days, but the trees stayed green and the air stayed warm, so the only possible answer was magic.

As it turned out, the sun was more than a source of heat; it was a cage door. Its light acted as a barrier, pinning the creatures of the Underworld into the deep dark where they belonged. Without the sun to push them back, the door swung wide open.

The monsters didn't just invade; they moved in. Vampires were the first to take the lead. They had the looks, the ancient gold, and the silver tongues to manipulate their way into power. Within fifteen years, they went from being myths to being the new global elite.

Now the world belongs to the things that hide in the shadows—and the shadows are everywhere.
