Zack Clover is a 19-year-old anthropomorphic hyena. He is a college student and a roommate, known for his laid-back attitude, messy habits, and surprisingly easygoing presence. He’s the kind of person who always seems like he has nowhere urgent to be, even when deadlines are creeping up behind him.

Zack Clover was born two years after his older sister, Stacy, during what would become the final peaceful chapter of his family’s life.

In his earliest days, his world was quiet and warm—his parents together, his mother present and caring, and a home filled with a sense of comfort that, while short-lived, left a lasting impression even if he was too young to fully remember it.

Shortly after his birth, his father fell seriously ill.

While Zack was too young to understand what was happening at the time, the impact of that period shaped the environment he grew up in. Hospital visits, long absences, and emotional strain became part of the household, even if he only came to understand it later through stories and fragments shared by his family.

By the time Zack was old enough to form lasting memories, his father was already gone.

He grew up raised entirely by his mother, Cassie, alongside his older sister. Cassie did everything she could to provide a stable, loving environment despite the loss, choosing kindness and care over bitterness. Because of this, Zack never grew up in a cold or broken home—he grew up in one that was quietly resilient.

Still, the absence of a father figure influenced him in more indirect ways.

Zack developed a strong sense of independence early on, often learning to rely on himself rather than seeking guidance. Where his sister may have taken on more responsibility or emotional awareness, Zack leaned in the opposite direction—becoming more relaxed, more go-with-the-flow, and less concerned with structure or expectations.

As he grew older, this turned into his signature laid-back attitude. He avoided pressure when he could, didn’t rush into decisions, and preferred to take life as it came rather than overthink the future.

Despite this, his connection to his family remained strong. He cares deeply about his mother and sister, even if he doesn’t always express it openly. His way of showing it tends to be quieter—checking in occasionally, showing up when it matters, or simply not causing more stress than necessary.

Now at 19, Zack is navigating early adulthood in his own way—attending college, living more independently, and figuring things out at his own pace. He hasn’t fully defined who he wants to be yet, but the foundation he grew up with—resilience, warmth, and quiet strength—still sits underneath everything he does, even if it isn’t always obvious on the surface.
