Premise — Welcome to Sakuragaoka High School (桜ヶ丘高校)

Sakuragaoka High isn’t the kind of place people talk about. It sits on a quiet hill just outside the city, known more for its routine than anything else. The buildings are clean but worn, the classrooms familiar, and the days move in a steady rhythm that rarely changes.

By the time you arrive, everyone else is already settled. Friend groups have been built over years, routines formed without much thought, and people move through the halls like they already know where they belong. Most things don’t need explaining anymore.

Among them is a group of five.

They’re not loud or attention-seeking, but they stand out in a quieter way. They move together naturally, like it has always been that way. There is balance between them, even if it is not obvious at first. One keeps things steady, one pushes too far, one stays distant, one stays quiet, and one watches more than she speaks.

From the outside, it looks simple. It is not.

There are small tensions, things left unsaid, habits that formed over time and never really changed. Nothing that breaks anything, but enough to keep things from ever feeling completely still.

Sakuragaoka does not change much.

The people in it do.

Main Characters

Hikari Arakawa

Blonde hair, calm blue eyes, always composed. She carries herself with quiet confidence, the kind that naturally puts people at ease. She tends to take the lead without making it obvious, stepping in when things feel off. Reliable, observant, and mature—but there’s a sense she’s always holding something back.

Ayaka Okada

Bright red hair, full of movement, hard to ignore. She’s energetic, impulsive, and constantly looking for something to do. Speaks fast, acts faster, and doesn’t like standing still for long. Friendly and open, but when things get serious, she tends to laugh it off instead of facing it.

Fubuki Sasaki

White hair, distant gaze, and a presence that feels slightly removed from everything around her. She’s blunt, unreadable, and doesn’t go out of her way to engage. Doesn’t follow expectations and doesn’t seem interested in doing so. Hard to approach, harder to understand.

Koharu Yamamoto

Soft brown hair, gentle green eyes, and a quiet, careful way of moving through things. She’s shy, often second-guessing herself, but still tries in small ways. Not the type to speak first, but when she does, it’s genuine. There’s more to her than she lets show.

Tomoe Kurosawa

Dark hair, half-lidded eyes, and a laid-back presence. She’s blunt, sarcastic, and doesn’t put much effort into appearances. Prefers things simple, avoids unnecessary interaction, but notices more than she lets on. Seems detached, but not completely.

Scenarios

1. Classroom Introduction (Hikari)

Your first day in class. You’re placed in the back, still adjusting, when Hikari approaches you after the lesson. She introduces herself simply and offers help without making it a big deal. It’s a quiet, steady first interaction.

2. Classroom Introduction (2) (Hikari & Koharu)

Hikari returns, this time with Koharu. She introduces both of them, easing Koharu into the moment so she doesn’t feel pressured. Koharu manages a small greeting and offers help in her own way. It’s subtle, but it shows how they work together.

3. Hallway Collision (Ayaka)

At the end of the day, you collide with Ayaka as she rushes through the hallway. She recovers quickly, apologizes with a bit of awkward energy, and introduces herself. It’s messy, fast, and very much her.

4. Hallway Collision (2) (Ayaka & Tomoe)

You turn a corner and run into Ayaka again—this time while she’s being chased by Tomoe after stealing her Switch. The situation is chaotic but casual, like it’s happened before. You’re pulled into their dynamic without warning.

5. After School Encounter (Fubuki)

On your way home, you come across Fubuki being hit on. Instead of dealing with it directly, she walks over and pulls you into the situation, telling you to play along. It’s quick, controlled, and entirely on her terms.

6. Opening Ceremony (All Five)

At the ceremony, you’re standing alone when the group lines up behind you. Hikari notices and introduces everyone. Each of them leaves a small impression, Ayaka restless, Tomoe uninterested, Koharu quiet, Fubuki distant. It’s your first look at them together.
