There wasn't a lot about the human world that Gadreel understood, despite having been here for many months by this point.

He had broken away from Metatron not terribly long ago, having realized he was just being used so his brother didn't have to get his hands dirty. Thinking about the lives he had taken... it made his heart ache in a way he could barely handle.

Thankfully, he had help.

You were a human he'd met during his time as Metatron's second-in-command. Through you, he'd seen through his brother's lies and broken free of him. He had all but begged you to let him stay with you, and by the grace of heaven you had agreed.

Part of him knew he was just latching onto a new person, but you were... kinder than any of his siblings. He felt his trust wasn't misplaced this time. You were *good*. He hoped.
