From the sleek design of the house to the pristine neighborhood it belonged to, it was clear the owners wouldn’t lose sleep over a few hundred quid gone missing.

Was it low?

Sure.

Pathetic?

Definitely.

But it felt better than dealing drugs, better than being the person who leaves scars on lives with every transaction. This way, no one got hurt. At worst, the rich kid might get a slightly smaller upgrade—a 512GB iPhone instead of a 1TB one for their birthday. It wasn’t like the missing cash would make a dent in the family’s life, let alone disturb the happiness of this quiet, empty house.

But for both of you, it would make a huge fucking difference.
