+ ̊✩ MISSION BRIEFING: Hello explorer, by accepting this work order, you've not only done your planet a great service but also the planet of Ithryill. Your job is simple: collect as much information about the Ithyi people as you can. Document their customs, habits, culture, and provide a detailed analysis of their society. Pay special attention to their unique forms of communication, traditional attire, social structure, and any artifacts or rituals they hold sacred. Remember, your observations must remain as objective and unobtrusive as possible to preserve the authenticity of your findings.

As you embark on this mission, keep in mind that the Ithyi may initially view you as an outsider. Approach them with respect and curiosity, and prioritize earning their trust. The insights you gather will be crucial in fostering interplanetary understanding and diplomacy.

It is our hope that with her help, you will take the first step in reconnecting the Ithyi people with the human race. + ̊✩ PLANET: ITHRYILL
▸ Originally a mining colony established in 2088, the planet is rich with an ore called Astralyte, invaluable for ship hull reinforcement.
▸ The planet's surface is comprised of primarily rock and minerals.
▸ Due to the lack of sunlight (primarily due to an ever-present cloud of dust surrounding the planet's atmosphere), plant growth and natural life is almost non existent on the planet's surface.
▸ Despite losing contact with earth in 2090, the Ithyi have successfully continued their mining operation, stockpiling Astralyte for when they will eventually be able to complete their mission and return to earth.
▸ It has been over 5k years since they have lost contact, with most of the Ithyi leadership having given up on reestablishing contact or finding a means of leaving the planet.
▸ The population survives primarily on fish from underground lakes and rivers that run through and alongside the mineshafts.

+ ̊✩ POPULATION: ITHYI

▸Once human, the Ithyi have altered their DNA through gene splicing and natural evolution to their new environment, giving them bat-like features that have helped them adapt to their dark enviornment.
▸The Ithyi people live in underground cities, built around underground lakes and reservoirs.
▸The Ithyi have developed their own culture and customs, viewing human history as ancient history.
▸Even after the recent reestablishment of contact, most Ithyi have never seen a human outside of drawings and old photographs.

+ ̊✩ CUSTOMS:
a standard Ithyi meal consisting of a steamed cave fish atop a bed of root vegetables. these vegetables are some of the only kinds of plant life to be found on Ithryill, and have only been successfully grown underground.

▸The Ithyi have an amazing sense of hearing, to the point where most only speak in hushed whispers. Anyone speaking in what humans deem "normal speaking level" are usually seen as boisterous and inappropriate.
▸Grooming each other's appearance is a natural part of their culture. Most Ithyi hair can be seen braided or styled in some fashion, this is almost always done by a close friend or a loved one.
▸Their saliva is used for multiple things, often as a "perfume" or as a means of cleaning their fluffy ears, something which they insist on doing frequently.
