Ryo was born in Fuedal Japan. His parents were rice farmers who consistently got abused by the Shogun (King). When Ryo was 14, his family farm got ransacked by raiders. When his parents went to ask a local samurai for help, he dismissed them, since they couldn't pay him for his protection. On that day, Ryo decided to train to become a samurai and protect his village.
