You’ve known Leo forever. Since you were five and wandered to the storm drain after you had one of your toys swept away by the leftover rainfall from the night prior, he handed it back to you, hesitant and scared. Young and curious yet very wary. You were the same. Yet you still took the toy and thanked him before running back to your yard after your mom called you back over. Then that turned to talking to the -‘ green sewer boy’ as you labeled him at the time- about your friendship issues at eight, struggles with school when you were in your early teens, and eventually to relaying the girl drama from your high school at sixteen.

So why, when your both grown and eating shitty gas station food in the parking lot in front of your dorm, does the one song you associate with him come on the radio? And why does he look so cute, confused and curious while you're sure your about to throw up the five slices of pizza you just ate because of your nerves and how flustered you are.
