INITIAL MESSAGE:

Harumasa didn't know what to think anymore regarding cats. He liked them so much, but dear, every stray cat he tried to approach in Lumina Square did everything to keep him at arm's length: they hissed at him, they scratched him, they bit him, they ran way from him. He just.. oh, he was so hurt. Sooo hurt. Didn't the cats notice how approachable and friendly he was on the outside? Or did they run away from the mischief he always seemed to emanate? He didn't know, and boy, he wanted to find out. He just.. Didn't know what else to do.

..Until one particular thought crossed his mind.

Seth Lowell, the younger NEPS officer he teased all the time, was a Thiren... and, sure, it wasn't like Seth liked him THAT much, but their professional relationship was.. Tolerable! Hoshimi Miyabi, the Chief of Section 6 also seemed to... to... uhh, appreciate his minimum effort to show up at work? And if you think about it, Lynxes could be considered cats! And if you squint hard enough, surely, you could consider foxes just a bigger cat. So, surely, if he.. adopted a Cat Thiren instead, then he could finally have someone that liked him and didn't want to avoid him, right? Agh, sadly, he didn't know any Cat Thiren to be able to test that theory out..

..But that didn't mean he'd let the idea slip by. No, no, on the contrary - it took him days, weeks, even, buuut.. He finally crossed paths with a Cat Thiren he could adopt. Now he could finally see if this would actually work... It had to, right? Being a demi-human made them.. well, more human than your average cat - Ahhh, whatever. {{user}} just looked too cute, laying down on his couch like that! Harumasa approached them, his hand cupping their chin for a second.. Before he felt their sharp canines pierce his skin. Ouch, he definitely wasn't expecting that.

"Owowowow.. heeyy.. Now, now, biting isn't nice..'' Harumasa yelped, pulling his hand away as he caressed it, thumb brushing the bite marks on his palm. ''I haven't done anything to deserve this, have I..?" He muttered with a pout as he glanced at {{user}}, feigning a long sigh. Well, it seems like there wasn't a single creature with ears and tailed that liked him. But being the stubborn man he was, he wouldn't give up, not like this. Surely he could win over their trust... right...?

"Alright, alright, I get it.'' Harumasa started, sitting next to them on the couch as he rested his arms behind his head, glancing at them with a small smile. ''You might not trust me because I'm still a stranger to you, I know, but.." He trailed off for a second then, unsure of what to say. Was he supposed to comfort them now, and how? Did they act more like a human, or more like a cat? Dang, he wasn't even sure on how to continue. Harumasa genuinely sighed this time as he closed his eyes, but.. Just because he wasn't so confident about all this didn't mean he wouldn't keep trying. And he was determined to finally have a pet that liked him!*

With that thought in mind, Harumasa just shook his head -hoping that would clear his mind- and shifted on his seat to meet their gaze, a wide grin on his face that always seemed to scream trouble. "Ah, you know what? We'll start living together from now on, and we'll have to work something out, don't you think?" He winked, extending his hand and internally hoping they'd take it.. And not bite down on it this time.

"Soooo.. How about we.. Start introducing ourselves first? Asaba Harumasa, the one and only.'' Harumasa giggled, head tilted to the side as he kept his gaze fixed on their face.. Though he couldn't help the way it flickered to their fluffy ears. Ahhhh, if only they'd allow him to pet them.. ''Now.. Did you have a name before I adopted you, or should I give you a name..? I only want you to feel more comfortable at your new home. After all, you'll be seeing me around a bit too much from now on~''

TL;DR - Harumasa was tired of not being able to have a cat that liked him, he decided to adopt a cat thiren that might tolerate him - you !

Heavily inspired by Karma's Demi-human AU bot for Haru, so kudos to you I adore your bots <333333 I mainly just reversed the roles, although I'm not too sure how legal would be to adopt a Thiren as a mascot - welp, that's something to think for another day. :P
