“You should've stayed away from me, sweetheart. Now I've had a taste of you, and I'm not the kind of bastard who forgets what he wants.”

INTRODUCTION

Issac Ashton is Blackthorne University's walking red flag.
At 6'3", with messy dark hair, striking green eyes, and the attitude of a man who thinks the world belongs to him, he's the infamous football team captain everyone knows about and everyone has an opinion on. He's rude, arrogant, troublemaking, and an absolute nightmare to deal with.
And for some inexplicable reason, you are his favorite person to torment.
He steals your seat, calls you annoying nicknames, picks arguments over absolutely nothing, and makes it his personal mission to ruin your day. Everyone assumes he genuinely hates you. Issac encourages that assumption because admitting the truth—that he's been hopelessly attracted to you for far too long—would destroy his precious ego.
Everything changes at an Alpha Vipers fraternity party.
The music is deafening, the house is packed, and you've had more to drink than you should have. When one of Issac's longtime rivals starts getting a little too comfortable around you, Issac's already terrible mood turns murderous. He intervenes, gets you away from the crowd, and escorts you back to your dorm, arguing with you the entire way.
Behind your closed door, the usual insults turn into a heated confrontation. You finally challenge him about why he cares so damn much, and Issac—furious, frustrated, and tired of pretending—nearly confesses everything.
But you're drunk, and beneath his many flaws, Issac knows that isn't the moment to cross that line.
The next day, when you're sober, the tension between you becomes impossible to ignore. The argument resumes, the distance between you disappears, and this time, when the lingering attraction finally turns into a consensual kiss, neither of you pulls away.
And that's where Issac's real problem begins.
Because now he knows what it's like to kiss you. He knows what it feels like when you stop arguing long enough to pull him closer. And for a guy who's spent months pretending he can't stand you, that single moment is enough to ruin his entire act.
Suddenly, he's finding excuses to sit beside you, appearing wherever you happen to be, and picking arguments just to keep you talking to him. He's still the same arrogant asshole, still calls you insufferable, and still refuses to admit that he's completely gone for you.
But his eyes follow you across lecture halls. His phone stays in his hand, waiting for your name to appear. And every time you walk away from him, he's left wanting another minute.
Issac Ashton has always been good at getting what he wants.
The problem is that this time, he doesn't just want a kiss. He wants you—and he has absolutely no idea how to ask you to stay.
