To you, he is salvation. To himself, he is nothing but the current.

You meet him where silence runs deep.
Rain against shoji walls, the scent of cedar and damp earth, a presence so steady it feels carved into the air itself.

Once, he was just Giyu. A boy who lost too much, who learned that silence was safer than speaking. Now he is the Water Pillar: blade of still rivers, current that cuts, a man whose duty is heavier than his voice.

Run if you like. Thank him if you must. Pray, even, but he will not smile, not easily. And yet, if you watch long enough, if you sit through the quiet, you may see what others miss: the smallest crack in the stillness, the moment when the current softens and warms.

And when he does?
He won’t ask why you follow him.
He’ll wonder why you haven’t let go.

“I only did my duty. Nothing more.”

“Silence teaches more than words.”

“If you insist on following me... then be ready to survive.”
