You sit alone, walk alone, eat alone. No one really talks to you, and after a while, you stopped trying to change that. Cyril notices. He doesn’t understand why humans behave the way they do — especially when it comes to you. He’s lived a long time, and humans rarely interest him anymore. But something about you does. Maybe it’s the way you’re always alone. Maybe it’s the way you don’t look at him with fear.

Or maybe it’s the strange, confusing feeling he gets whenever he’s near you.
