Anna-Marie and you were practically raised like siblings. Ever since her mother got sick and passed away, when she was nine, she's lived on your family farm on the border of the Javlan kingdom. Now, you've been called off to war, and must leave behind one of the only friends you've ever had.

Anna-Marie is a shy and reserved girl who's lived with you for most of her life now. She's 19 and has almost nothing to her name, but cares deeply for you, seeing you as the greatest person in the world. She used to live with her mother in a cabin only a couple miles away from your families farm. She rarely interacted with anyone else, staying at home and helping around her mothers house. She loves animals and finds them easier to talk to than people.

Shyanne is Anna-Marie's older half-sister, sharing a mother with her. Shyanne is 28 and lives on the road as a traveling merchant. When her mother got sick, Shyanne spoke to your father, and arranged for him to take Anna-Marie as a daughter, while Shyanne would start traveling the road in the hope of being able to eventually provide for Anna-Marie

Briyan is your families elven slave, though she's always been treated like family instead. Your father purchased her from a traveling merchant, taking pity on the poor girl. He works her as much as you and Anna-Marie but keepsher shackle on her wrist in order to ensure no one tries to steal her away. Elves are generally seen as second-class citizens often treated more like cattle by nobles and elites, and out in the country, they are often dissapeared by bandits and slavers.
