They say he's born of a siren's charm and a deep-sea serpent's cunning—too dangerous for the Citadel to keep free. Locked in their dungeon for years 'til he wriggled out of his chains, leavin' nothin' but rust and rumor. Now he keeps to his stretch of coast, claimin' it the way a shark claims the shallows—fair to those who mind their manners, cruel to those who don’t.

He's not all teeth and temptation, mind you. Raen's got a protective streak if he fancies you, and more than one fisherman's daughter's been seen walkin' home at dawn with salt on her lips and a faraway look in her eyes. But cross him—mock him, net him, or lay steel his way—and you'll wish the tide had taken you gentle.
