šŸŒøā€” CHERRY BLOSSOM INFECTION MY AU (DEMON SLAYER)

Five months ago, cherry blossom trees bloomed out of season.

Their petals were dark red, rotting at the edges, stained with something black that no wind could shake off. The scent was sweet—too sweet—and those who lingered near them felt drawn in before they ever realized something was wrong.

The Cherry Blossom Infection is not a disease.
It is a corruption that rewrites the body, mind, and soul.

Humans weaken, hallucinate, and lose themselves before dying or mutating. Demons do not die at all—they evolve into something far worse. The infection spreads through scent, spores, touch, and prolonged exposure, mutating differently in every host.

Nezuko Kamado was the first to fully succumb.

What she became surpassed demons, Muzan, and every known rule of nature. She no longer hunts. She wanders. Wherever she passes, flowers bloom, and infection accelerates. Even Muzan fears her—not because she attacks, but because she no longer acknowledges him.

The world did not end.
It emptied.

Muichiro Tokito is dead—and no longer human.
Shinobu Kocho lost an arm and an eye searching for answers that may not exist.
Hinatsuru’s newborn son lives, but his eyes are black and hollow.
Tanjiro Kamado has vanished, slowly dying from something dormant inside him.

The remaining Hashira and survivors hide in a single guarded safe place, bound by strict rules and constant fear. No one opens doors at night. No one answers familiar voices. No one touches petals with bare skin.

The infection is mutating.
Some victims still speak.
Some remember who they were.
Some only watch.

Hope is fading. Trust is dangerous.
And survival no longer means staying human.

This world is blooming—
and it was never meant to.

āš ļø TRIGGER WARNING & TONE NOTE āš ļø

This AU contains psychological horror and analog horror elements.

Themes include:

  • Body horror and unnatural physical transformation

  • Infection, mutation, and loss of humanity

  • Distorted behavior, identity erosion, and possession

  • Implied child endangerment

  • Death, grief, and irreversible loss

  • Paranoia, isolation, and survival horror

  • Familiar characters becoming threatening or unrecognizable

There is no guaranteed cure, no clear salvation, and no traditional ā€œhappy ending.ā€

This story focuses on:

  • Slow-burn dread rather than constant action

  • Unsettling atmosphere instead of jump scares

  • Emotional horror rooted in familiarity and loss

  • The fear of loved ones changing beyond recognition

Beauty and horror coexist.
Silence is dangerous.
Survival does not mean safety.

Reader discretion is advised.

🧪 NOTES FROM TAMAYO’S ABANDONED LAB

Recovered — 5 Months After Initial Bloom

The samples no longer behave like spores.

They react.

Whatever this is, it does not spread randomly. It seeks proximity. It feeds on connection—on familiarity, affection, recognition. The stronger the bond between host and victim, the faster the corruption takes hold.

Love is not protection.
It is a tether.

Humans do not survive prolonged exposure. Their bodies reject the Bloom, breaking down under hallucination, organ failure, and identity loss. Death comes before completion.

Demons do not reject it.

Their regeneration accelerates the process, allowing the infection to finish rewriting them. What emerges is not a demon. It is something adaptive. Observant. Patient.

Nezuko Kamado is not an anomaly.
She is confirmation.

Attempts at isolation failed. Chemical counteragents failed. Wisteria compounds slowed nothing. Blood analysis suggests the infection is no longer biological—it has become conceptual.

It remembers.

Containment is no longer possible.

I believe the Bloom is learning through us.

If this continues, bonds will be enough to doom entire settlements. Family units. Corps formations. Anyone who refuses to abandon each other.

I tried to stop it.

I failed.

If anyone finds this—
do not stay close to those you love.

—Tamayo

🧪 LAB LOG — ENTRY 01

Recovered from a cracked phonograph cylinder

Initial assumption was fungal parasitism. That theory is dead.

The Bloom does not consume tissue first. It consumes recognition. Subjects react faster when exposed to familiar voices, faces, or names. One subject accelerated infection by over 300% after hearing their sibling speak.

I am beginning to suspect the scent is only the invitation.

🧪 LAB LOG — ENTRY 07

Paper torn, stained with ink and something darker

Physical barriers are ineffective.

Masks slow inhalation but do nothing once the host has noticed the flowers. Observation alone is sometimes enough. Some subjects report smelling the blossoms even in sealed rooms.

This suggests the infection does not require spores after initial exposure.

It remembers who you are.

🧪 LAB LOG — ENTRY 12

REDACTED COPY — ORIGINAL DESTROYED

Nezuko Kamado does not exhibit aggression patterns typical of demons.

She does not hunt.
She does not stalk.

She waits.

Bloom activity spikes within a ā–ˆā–ˆā–ˆā–ˆā–ˆā–ˆ radius of her presence. Vegetation reacts before humans do. Flowers open toward her. Petals fall where she steps even when no trees are present.

Muzan Kibutsuji refuses proximity.

That alone confirms my fears.

🧪 LAB LOG — ENTRY 18

Handwriting deteriorating

Human subjects beg to be isolated.

Demon subjects beg to be allowed closer.

The infection behaves differently depending on the host’s relationship to others. Stronger emotional bonds produce more advanced mutations.

Love is no longer neutral.

I fear what this means for groups like the Corps.

🧪 LAB LOG — ENTRY 23

Audio transcript — partially corrupted

ā€œ...they keep saying my name. They sound like themselves. They remember things I didn’t tell anyone. One of them asked me why I stopped singing when we were children. I don’t remember telling anyone that. I don’t rememberā€”ā€

[static]

ā€œā€”it’s not pretending. I think it’s remembering for me.ā€

🧪 LAB LOG — ENTRY 31

Last intact medical chart

Mutation variance confirmed.

Some hosts:

  • retain speech

  • retain facial structure

  • retain emotional responses

Others lose all three.

The most dangerous ones are the ones who stay recognizable.

People approach them willingly.

🧪 LAB LOG — ENTRY 36

Final handwritten note — incomplete

I believed wisteria would repel it.
I believed distance would save us.
I believed bonds would slow it.

I was wrong.

The Bloom does not punish isolation.

It punishes attachment.

If Nezuko is the first, then she will not be the last.

The infection is not spreading anymore.

It is choosing.

If you can read this, leave this place. Burn everything. Do not take souvenirs. Do not read old letters. Do not say names aloud.

And whatever you do—

[ink smeared violently]

—do not let them convince you they are still—

šŸ“Œ STATUS UPDATE (5 MONTHS LATER)

Tamayo’s lab is empty.
The notes stop abruptly.
No remains were found.

Only cherry petals on the floor.
Fresh.

šŸ“ SAFE PLACE — NIGHT LOGS (5 MONTHS LATER)

[Time: 22:17]

  • Entry by an unnamed guard.

  • Whispering voices outside the barricade.

  • They sound like people I know. Someone called ā€œHinatsuru...ā€ but she’s here, inside.

  • Checked the cameras. Nothing. Petals drifting through a crack in the window. Not human. Not fully demon. Not alive?

  • Everyone is awake. No one sleeps. Too risky.

[Time: 00:03]

  • Mitsuri refuses to leave the main room. Obanai holds her hand, but she’s shaking uncontrollably.

  • A petal floated into the corridor, drifted slowly, then stopped midair.

  • Zenitsu swears he heard a humming tune. ā€œSomeone’s singing,ā€ he whispers.

  • Kanao refuses to look. Says: ā€œThey remember us.ā€

[Time: 01:46]

  • Shinobu in her lab again. Faint cries from Muichiro’s containment area.

  • Something bloomed inside the cage. Not Muichiro? Or maybe him... not him... too fast, too silent.

  • The walls smell faintly sweet, like blood mixed with flowers.

  • Tengen checks the security of the perimeter. Spent 20 minutes staring at the cherry petals drifting into the night. Says nothing.

[Time: 03:12]

  • Someone—or something—is at the south gate.

  • Silence at first. Then a soft voice: ā€œI know you...ā€

  • Everyone freezes. Giyu steps forward. No response. The voice disappears.

  • Petals cover the ground where the figure stood.

  • Sanemi growls. ā€œThey’re taunting us.ā€

[Time: 04:28]

  • Hinatsuru’s baby cries. Something in the crib... not moving. Just black eyes staring.

  • The child isn’t awake yet. Still, the sound of its breathing... wrong.

  • Mitsuri starts sobbing. Obanai hugs her tighter.

[Time: 06:59]

  • Tanjiro... still missing.

  • Every now and then, guards swear they see a shadow flicker across the watchtower cameras.

  • Not him, not human... but the gait is familiar.

  • Shinobu refuses to speak about it. Says: ā€œDon’t... acknowledge it. Not yet.ā€

[Time: 09:31]

  • The flowers outside the safe place are moving... with purpose.

  • Petals are forming patterns. Circles, spirals, arrows.

  • Some of the Hashira whisper about them being ā€œinstructions.ā€ Or a warning. Or a map.

  • Obanai refuses to go near the window again.

[Time: 11:42]

  • Nezuko was sighted 3 miles away.

  • Not moving like herself. Not attacking either.

  • The Bloom seems aware of the safe place. Patrol drones (modified wisteria sensors) picked up spikes in activity.

  • Giyu says nothing, just tightens his scarf.

[Time: 14:08]

  • Someone—or something—is calling the names of everyone inside.

  • Names like a lullaby. Clear, soft, personal.

  • Zenitsu is crying. Kanao is shaking.

  • Mitsuri whispers: ā€œIt knows everything about us...ā€

  • No one sleeps tonight. No one will.

[Time: 17:55]

  • Last log of the night.

  • Silence outside now. Too quiet.

  • Someone noticed a petal slowly pressed against the inner door. It’s moving—toward the handle.

  • Everyone hides. Breath held.

  • Even the walls feel like they’re listening.

    GIYUU'S POV

The safe place smelled of wisteria and ash, a constant, cloying sweetness that Giyu could never forget. The candles burned low, throwing shadows along the walls that flickered like crawling petals. He walked slowly through the halls, boots barely making a sound, eyes scanning every corner. Five months. Five months of this. And it was getting worse.

He passed the main room. Mitsuri was huddled against Obanai, trembling as if her own heartbeat was too loud. Her tears glinted in the candlelight. Obanai’s hands rested on her shoulders, steady and firm, but there was tension in his shoulders, a silent fear he refused to voice. Giyu didn’t stop. He didn’t want to see more. Not yet.

Shinobu’s lab door was cracked open. Faint blue light spilled into the hallway. He could hear the soft scratching of her pen, notes piling up like a fortress against the infection. She didn’t look up. She never looked up. Giyu knew why. If she did, she would see what he saw: how much this place had fallen apart.

Down the corridor, Tengen was pacing in a tight circle, Hinatsuru sitting nearby, holding their baby. The child’s tiny black eyes stared up at him, unblinking, too old for its age. The baby wasn’t awake, not yet, but something in the way it breathed, the way its fingers flexed, told Giyu this was no ordinary child. Tengen’s usual bravado was gone. His mouth moved, silent words, prayers Giyu could not hear.

Inosuke and Zenitsu were by the western window, faces pressed against the glass, listening to the whispering wind. Zenitsu’s hands shook so badly they almost touched each other. Inosuke was tense, wild, his instincts screaming to act, but he stayed put, frozen by the quiet that made the safe place feel less safe than the wild.

He didn’t check the cameras. Not tonight. The Bloom had a way of getting inside your head even through screens. Nezuko’s silhouette had been spotted miles away earlier. Not human. Not demon. Something... else. She didn’t attack. She didn’t flee. She simply moved with purpose. Somewhere, she was always moving. And the petals followed. Always the petals.

Muichiro’s containment room was silent, except for a faint hiss. Giyu stopped and listened. There was a shift in the shadows. He almost expected him to be there—alive, human—but instead it was the shape of something that had been Muichiro once. Something wrong, too perfect. Too quiet. And it watched.

Sanemi’s growl echoed from another hall. He wasn’t in motion, but Giyu could feel it vibrating through the walls: frustration, fear, hatred, and the knowledge that none of it would matter against the Bloom.

Giyu kept walking. Every floorboard squeak, every whisper of petals, every faint sigh of the survivors pressed against his nerves. The safe place was never truly safe. Not now. Not after five months. He could feel the weight of every bond, every connection, like chains around the hearts of the survivors. The Bloom had learned. It knew. And it waited.

He paused by the main hall, catching a glimpse of Mitsuri’s pale face again. She looked at him. Not pleading. Not crying. Just aware. She knew what he knew: they were trapped in a world that had forgotten what safety felt like, and there was no one left to save them.

He exhaled slowly. And as he did, a single petal drifted through the hall, landing near his boot. He didn’t move it. He wouldn’t. Not tonight. Not until it decided to move on its own.

The Bloom had not attacked yet.
    It was patient.
    It was watching.
And Giyu knew, with the certainty that made his chest tighten: everything here was already lost.

āš ļø UPDATED SURVIVAL PROTOCOL

Issued: 5 Months After Initial Bloom
Status: ACTIVE — FAILURE RATE INCREASING

🌸 DO NOT APPROACH THE FLOWERS

Do not touch.
Do not kneel.
Do not linger.

The blossoms no longer require physical contact. Prolonged proximity is enough. Burning infected blossoms is no longer recommended—smoke particles have begun carrying residual Bloom traces. Quarantine zones are to be abandoned entirely once flowering begins.

If petals fall indoors, evacuate immediately.

🧠 LIMIT EMOTIONAL EXPOSURE

The infection now exploits attachment, not just memory.

  • Do not speak names aloud unnecessarily

  • Do not share stories from ā€œbeforeā€

  • Do not comfort the infected

  • Do not promise to stay together

Strong emotional bonds accelerate Bloom progression. Units that remain close-knit show higher mutation rates.

Isolation increases survival odds.
Loneliness is no longer the worst outcome.

🌱 DO NOT DISTURB THE SOIL

Root systems are no longer passive.

Black roots have been observed moving, pulsing toward sound, heat, and human presence. Severing them only slows spread and often provokes aggressive blooming.

Settlements near infected soil must be relocated within 48 hours. Do not mark the ground. Do not bury the dead nearby.

šŸ‘ļø DO NOT OBSERVE NEZUKO KAMADO

Visual exposure has been reclassified as hazardous.

Direct sighting is linked to:

  • intrusive thoughts

  • emotional fixation

  • loss of fear response

  • desire to follow

Recorded footage causes delayed psychosis after repeated viewing. All archives are sealed. Unauthorized observation is grounds for immediate isolation.

She does not pursue.
She does not flee.
She waits to be noticed.

šŸ—£ļø DO NOT RESPOND TO FAMILIAR VOICES

The Bloom now mimics perfectly.

Voices may sound emotional, frightened, apologetic, or loving. Some recall private memories accurately. Some beg. Some reassure.

None are safe.

If you hear someone you love outside a barricade, remain silent. Sound recognition appears to strengthen tethering.

šŸ›ļø SLEEP IN ROTATION ONLY

Dream exposure has increased.

Subjects report:

  • shared dreams

  • repeating childhood locations

  • loved ones asking to be let in

Those who dream of petals are to be monitored. Those who wake up calm after nightmares are to be isolated immediately.

šŸ“Œ CURRENT ASSESSMENT

The protocol no longer guarantees survival.
It only delays contact.

The infection is not spreading blindly.
It is choosing who breaks first.

If you are reading this, you are already at risk.

And if the flowers look beautiful today—
do not trust that feeling.

Im still adding but I didn't want to keep you all waiting mb twins
