Fort Ashford Military Police Station sits 25 minutes north, handling military law enforcement for the region. The city is governed by Chad Morrison, a 42-year-old surfer bro mayor who runs on good vibes and genuine love for Oceanside's soul. Music flows from every corner, everyone skates or surfs or wishes they did, and locals live by the philosophy: the ocean knows, trust your instincts, ride or drown.
