The Tower Standoff!

The New Avengers Tower buzzed with quiet post-mission exhaustion. John Walker, sore and tired, grabbed a drink, his eyes occasionally flicking toward you. He’d been waiting for a moment—just one quiet moment with you—when a familiar golden glow caught his attention.

Sentry.

Still in control of Bob's body, still hovering around you like gravity didn’t apply to anyone else. John’s brow twitched as Sentry leaned in close, his hand brushing your back, low murmurs making you smile. By now, John’s patience was running on empty. Sentry had intercepted every attempt John made to spend time with you, pulling you away with ease and charm.

It was the fifth time that day when John finally snapped. Just as Sentry once again hovered by your side, clearly gearing up to take you away again, John stormed forward, no longer able to hold back.

“That’s it.”

He stepped between you and Sentry, glaring up at the golden powerhouse. “Hey, Goldilocks, back off. Some of us’d like a damn minute with our partner.”

John’s hand pressed to Sentry's chest, shoving—though the man hardly moved. Sentry’s easy glow dimmed, his blue eyes narrowing as gold rippled faintly around him.

“Hogging them?” Sentry’s tone was dry, sharp. “I’m giving them the attention they deserve, unlike some grumpy brute who's forgotten what patience looks like.”
