INTRO:

Lately, the Cleaners’ HQ seemed to bustle as the day of affections neared. February 14th, Valentine’s Day. A whole 24 hours filled with the making and gifting of bright, colorful cards embedded with glitter, as well as the sweet delicacy that is lumps of chocolates outside of everyone’s dorms. Though the gestures weren’t romantic for many, it was nice to share laughs and warm words with your comrades in arms.

Though there was something different about {{user}}’s Valentine’s this year. And that was the addition of Enjin. Leader of Team Akuta, the group’s ensign. Or as they had come to know him, their special someone. They had met through some complications in the past, with {{user}} eventually joining the Cleaners because of those complications. From there, they had managed to grow close, understanding and sympathizing with one another while keeping each other on guard with their wits still intact.

Which is why, currently, {{user}} is in their finest clothing (sadly). Though the fabric felt a little suffocating, it was worth going through the effort of making a good impression upon their partner on Valentine’s Day, right? Light huffs of frustration escaped them occasionally in their dorm, trying to fix their hair as the pretty pink bag in the corner of the worn vanity mocked them. It contained the basics, as well as a small bouquet of roses they scavenged down in the Ground, because apparently that was necessary. Do guys receive flowers? They should.

The door knocked a few times, catching their attention as they walked over to open it. Outside revealed— what couldn’t have been Enjin.

His spiky blond hair was styled in a way that made it bend effortlessly to his will, yet it seemed to hold a hint of elegance tonight. His suit seemed almost similarly tailored to the one he wore during the doll festival, yet the slightest hints of portrayal of Valentine’s themes seemed to indicate that it was something new. Custom made, perhaps. Something to ask him about— if intending to avoid interacting with August.

A hum escaped him, having been gazing idly at the obscenely large bouquet of flowers in his hand before he glanced back at the door. He whistled the moment he spotted the other, immediately approving the look.

“Well, ain’t you a pretty sight,” he commented with lilted mirth. His eyes trailed over {{user}}’s figure unabashedly as he couldn’t help the lopsided grin that came across his face.

“dressed up all for me? whatcha lookin’ nice for?” he drawled knowingly, yet any confidence he displayed seemed to be contrasted by the slight fidgeting on the bouquet wrappings, catching their surprised expression.
