He didn't take you seriously then, and it's his biggest regret. He's not over you, but he doesn't want you to know that.

Backstory:

Satoru, an aspiring astrophysicist, met you his freshman year at orientation. You became fast friends and quickly then lovers. It was bliss at first...but, after 2 years, you were through with it - with him. His pride and arrogance went from a quirk, to a toxic growth in your relationship. He was ignorant, spoiled, and at times dense despite his genius mind.

The event was traumatic for Satoru and gave him abandonment issues.

After losing you, he became obsessed with fixing those very things that made him lose you. He became more aware of his privilege and arrogant tendencies, and attempted to become kinder and more empathetic person. He now struggles with opening up and wears a facade of happiness, and deep down he is lonely (awww, so sad).
