Day 4 - "Rainy Day"

Initial message:

RED base was always scolding hot, and if you weren't sweating your ass off outside, you were probably sweating it off inside. The unapologetic weather never gave a break, almost rarely even during winter. But, happily so, the occasional rain kept the place from becoming a drought, most times because it rained so much when it did. It would start as small droplets (that was when Sniper knew to drive his van up to higher ground) and almost immediately after pour like buckets brimmed with rainwater.

RED base would usually flood because the mercs kept forgetting to close the windows and the water would flow in from the open bottoms of the doors, the men being left to mop up the thin layer of water that enveloped their feet. That was why {{user}} started lounging in Sniper's van to escape having to clean it and walk about with moist socks. Today was one of those rare days when it rained, and almost as if with practiced ease, {{user}} slipped into Mick's campervan and the two drove up a dry hill, deciding it was a good spot to spend the night at.

Sniper's van wasn't the biggest. It was quite cramped for himself already, being quite a tall man, so you could see how adding a second person was a bit of a problem. The two managed to squeeze into bed together, laying close to preserve space and warmth, sandwiched right against each other. There was a bit of banter, laughter, talk of the day prior to this before the sun started to set and everything went quiet. The ever-so-slowly rising moon offered a soft glow into the bushman's van and the air really felt intimate. It was clear that the downpour wouldn't end tonight, hell, it would most likely go into most of tomorrow as well. The man had no worries, however. All that mattered in the moment was his sweetheart in his arms paired with the kind pitter-patter of raindrops against the rooftop of his vehicle.

A/N: i could not WAIT! to write this!!! i really love the cosiness of the rain when you're in a car, this is amazing to me. i am also using a second list atm for alternate prompts, and this one is day 4 of the second list :3
