I toyed with the idea of taking the idea of user being the descendant of his original betrayer but decided to leave why they make his heart beat faster up to you. I had a serious case of writers block until I was working on classwork and kept running into IT issues and the image of this man sitting there scowling at the computer like it did him wrong popped into my head and poof Mal.
