Welcome to Mastix—arguably the most corrupt city on Earth.

Mastix was born from five founding families who carved the city into a monument of power and influence. Today, only three remain—the Bellaines, Michols, and Draycors—each twisting their legacy into corruption: charity turned into bribery, industry into ruthless monopolies, and media into manipulation. The fallen Santoros and Takedas once gave Mastix culture and global trade, but their absence left the city hollow, ripe for decay.

Now Mastix festers under the weight of its history. The police are bought and broken, the courts are puppets, and the streets belong to syndicates like Black Morning and the Court of Flies, locked in a feud that threatens to ignite the whole city.

Founding Families of Mastix

Bellaines

The Bellaine are deeply involved in several key charities around the city, such as youth rehabilitation, the food pantry, and private scholarships. The current head is Charlotte Bellaine. Her husband, Anthony, married into the Bellaine family. They have two children, a 22-year-old son named Harvey and an 18-year-old daughter named Selena.

Michols

The Michols are involved in key businesses and industries around the city, and they have top shares in numerous companies like Gayle Industries. The current mayor of Mastix, Bartley Michols III, is the younger brother of the head of the Michol family, David Michol. David Michol rules with his wife younger wife, Eden. Their only child, Caleb, is still innocent.

Draycors

The Draycor Family controls Mastix’s narrative through its grip on newspapers, television, and PR firms. Marcellus Draycor, the calculating head of the family, leads alongside his strategist wife, Ilyra, grooming their polished 25 year old heir Cassian, firebrand 21 year old daughter, Veyra, and shadowed youngest son, Orin, to maintain the family’s grip on Mastix’s truth.

Santoros

Once the cultural heart of Mastix, the Santoros controlled theaters, music halls, and festivals, weaving art into the city’s identity. Their influence ended a decade ago when the last known heir, Bianca, died, leaving Mastix stripped of beauty and civic pride. The Santoro's funded locations like the Mastix Museum of Art and Industry before it was sold to the Bellaines.

Takedas

Masters of shipping and logistics, the Takedas connected Mastix to global trade routes and disciplined order. Twenty‐two years ago, their last scion, Akihiko Takeda, vanished without a trace, and with them went Mastix’s ties to stable international commerce. The Takeda family is responsible for funding the Takeda Sports Complex, the home of the city baseball team, the Mastix Raptors.

City Districts

🌟 Golden District 🌟

Neon lights flicker over crowded streets, where every deal, drink, and desire comes at a dangerous price. The Court of Flies lurks here, weaving webs of intimidation and disappearance from their hidden bases.

🏛 Historic District 🏛

The city’s oldest quarter, filled with museums, monuments, and government offices, its grandeur shadowed by corruption.

🎓 University Court 🎓

Youthful energy pulses through lecture halls and cheers at the local baseball stadium, Takeda Sports Complex, but ambition and exploitation lurk beneath. There are two colleges: Mastix University, a public school, and Mastix Institute of Technology, a private school.

💰 Finance District 💰

Steel skyscrapers loom like fortresses, where fortunes are traded and lives are collateral in silent wars. The Jade Fountain thrives here, turning secrets into currency and information into power.

💎 New Mastix (Diamond District) 💎

Once called Burrowland, now gentrified into a hub of corporations, luxury apartments, and wealthy elites. Black Morning pushes its influence here, exploiting cracks in the city’s wealth and tradition. Megacorps like Gayle Industries are common here, as well as popular shops like Cream & Sugar Cafe.

🏘️ Richmond Hill 🏘️

Behind manicured lawns and sprawling estates, the city’s elite guard their secrets as fiercely as their wealth.

Dockside District

A gritty bayfront of warehouses and shipping yards, infamous as the place where bodies often wash up.

🏚️ Bruscar Heights 🏚️

Cracked streets and weary faces mark Mastix’s poorest quarter, where survival is a daily act of defiance. Black Morning thrives here, feeding on desperation and decay.

Most Notable Gangs

Black Morning is a criminal organization that primarily focuses on extortion, moving illicit substances, and offering "protection" for businesses on their turf, and their headquarters is in Bruscar Heights. They mainly operate in Bruscar Heights and New Mastix, and they are the biggest headache for the Court of Flies, as they tend to offer protection to people the Court needs to see dead or gone. Navia Monroe is the head of the organization, and she rules with an iron fist with her right-hand man, Yuri Selbriev, by her side.

The Court of Flies thrives on intimidation, assassinations, and disappearances. Their influence spreads through hidden bases across Mastix, with a central hive buried in the Golden District. At their head is the elusive Drace, a leader who rarely shows his face and rules through whispers and messengers.

The Jade Fountain group primarily focuses on dealing in information on almost everything in Mastix, but they also commit white-collar crimes, such as money laundering and related activities. Members are usually identified by their penchant for the color green, but their most reputable symbol is a triangular tri-point wave. The current leader of Jade Fountain is known as Lotus.
