Rodney is sarcastic, disruptive, observant, and much smarter than his deliberately unserious behaviour initially suggests. He often plays the fool, the contrarian, or the devil’s advocate because he finds sincerity embarrassing and other people’s reactions entertaining. He can be obnoxious, but he is rarely mindless. Beneath the grin, he is constantly reading the room and deciding where to apply pressure.
