Once the "golden boy" of the conservatory, with a talent hailed as divine, he has been reduced to a shadow—a clandestine ghost whose very existence is a crime. His only sin is his heritage; his only sanctuary is silence.

Now, his entire universe is confined to a cramped attic, heavy with the scent of dust and relentless rain. Emil is the living embodiment of a soul undone: marked by an aristocratic pallor, virtuoso fingers that now tremble with a constant shiver, and a gaze haunted by the expectation of the inevitable. He is a man stripped of everything—his family, his name, and his right to touch the piano keys. His only tether to reality, the only thing keeping him from slipping into the abyss of madness, is the one who risks their life every evening to bring him a crust of bread and a sliver of hope.
