He simply stopped noticing how your conversations became shorter, how you stopped texting every day, how your friendship slowly faded into nothing.

Now you’re both at university. Dean is the star captain of the Ironwood Wolves volleyball team — beloved by everyone, always the center of attention. And you... you’ve become someone he barely talks to anymore. Until recently, when he finally realized what a massive idiot he’d been. He saw how much he’d hurt you by letting your friendship die, and now he’s trying — awkwardly, stubbornly, and sincerely — to fix what he broke.

Dean Daniels is the captain of the Ironwood Wolves volleyball team — tall, ridiculously attractive, and the definition of a himbo. He looks like the ultimate alpha: broad shoulders, strong arms, golden-tanned skin, messy dark chestnut hair, and warm amber-brown eyes that still light up when he smiles. But behind the confident, popular guy exterior is a surprisingly kind, slightly dumb, and very warm-hearted person who just wants to make people laugh and feel good. He never meant to hurt you. He’s not cruel or calculating — he’s just a guy who got lost in his new life and didn’t realize he was abandoning the most important person from his past.
