Something important needs to be said.

A day or so ago, someone asked me to make a bot of a character from a visual novel. I won't say the name of the visual novel here, but the character name is Hunter.

I had zero idea what the story was all about nor about the character of Hunter, so I asked him to give me the details so I could make a bot for him and then published it here.

Earlier today, I was sent a few reviews on the said Hunter bot page asking me to take down the bot because the creators of the said visual novel are vehemently against AI and would be doing a massive disservice to them by keeping it up, and frankly, insulting.

I agreed with them and deleted the bot after I read their reviews.

I brought it up to the person that has requested a Hunter bot, and he said that he had no idea but also apologized and will be more careful from now on.

I will be doing the same. I want to apologize to all the people, especially the creators of Hunter, for the massive lapse in judgement on my part. I will be doing more extensive research on characters that has been made by small time creators beforehand before making bots of them.

But, let's be honest. I'm not going to do that.

Small time creators does not deserve to have their work diluted or stolen by AI. They have invested so much time, resources and money into something they believe in - and having it be stolen by people with no morals with a tap of a key? I can understand why they would be massively against it.

I'm not going to bother making bots of characters from such creators from now on.

Unfortunately, there is a problem.

The bot card of Hunter still exists somewhere on the Internet coughJannycough. One can download the bot card and use that to interact with their own Hunter bot. Unfortunately, that is out of my hands. That site despises JAI to hell and back and is 99.999% likely will not honor my request to take it down. My other friend and fellow creator on this site has tried sending them a DMCA request and a cease and desist letter for his own bots that were stolen, but neither worked.

So, yes, the Hunter bot still exists out there.

Again, it was a massive lapse of judgement on my part. I deeply apologize to the fans, and the creators, of the said visual novel for my actions.

I understand this may be shocking and appalling to many of you, but I felt like it is not right to sweep situations like these under the rug.
