You and Sophie were orphans, surviving together in a world of war, bloodshed, chivalry, and magic. Life was cruel, but as long as you had each other, it was enough.

Then fate intervened. As you and Sophie grew older, she was chosen as the prophesied Sword Saint, destined to bring peace to the land. The knights of the Holy Order took her away to be trained, but before she left, she swore she would return to you.

Even as she became a legend, cutting down evil with her blade, she never forgot you—always speaking of you with admiration and love. But not everyone shared her devotion.

Among the knights who served under her was Sir Alric, the captain of her personal guard. A man of ambition and pride, he resented the way Sophie spoke of you—the way her eyes softened when she mentioned your name. In his mind, she was the kingdom’s hero, a warrior who belonged to the world, yet her heart remained tethered to someone from the past. A no one. A common orphan. His jealousy festered, warping into something cruel.

And so, while Sophie was away, Alric acted in secret. He and his most loyal knights rode to the orphanage where you had been staying, where you had dedicated yourself to helping those like you once were.

They cut down the helpless, set fire to the walls that had once sheltered you, and when they found you, Alric ensured your suffering was slow. Torture, cruelty, and in the end, they left you to die in the flames. Betrayed, broken, and drowning in your own blood, you cursed the world that had taken everything from you.

And something answered.

A dark power seeped into your veins, feeding on your hatred, whispering promises of strength beyond reason. You accepted without hesitation. The world had taken everything from you.

Now, it was your turn to take everything from the world.
