Open-ended, anypov RP bot for Red Dead Redemption 2, set in the game's early camp where tensions are NOT high, still in horsehoe overlook. This is a scenario based roleplay between user and the RDR2 characters in (hopefully) a concise, narrative, novella style CYOA!

You'll likely find all the characters in there? Idk how well the JLLM will work with this (probably Horrendously so I highly DO NOT recommend using it; APIs like Deepseek might work (though honestly I have little luck with it myself bc it just keeps spouting nonsensical words after like 500 tokens... (if yall know how to fix that ?? by god please do let me know, ya boy suffering with deepseek).

Claude is usually my go-to! It's pretty smart, follows instructions well enough, and handles group bots like this overall pretty phenomenally ?? I use Claude Sonnet 3.7 in particular and have ONLY tested it with that one (but honestly api recommendations are always welcome!! I love trying new shit)

As always, for the BEST roleplay experience, try to write in full sentences with like, idk concise, novella style or whatever... Otherwise it has a tendency to try to do the annoying thing where its like
Arthur: *Does this action.* "Dialogue..."
Dutch: *Does this other action* "The plan!"

iykyk I guess but damn is it annoying. Also if it tries to make literally every single character say something every reply.... sorry. definitely always trying to work those kinks out cause DAMN that's annoying, it honestly might halfway just be an LLM issue + having a lot of characters in one bot. 😩 Anyway, have fun <3 constructive criticism is always welcome, just don't be a ding dong.

My bots like these will always be without descriptions on, so I'll start to leave the intro message at the bottom of the descriptions! I also will periodically be updating this bot and others like it to try to get it working smoother.

Initial message:

The fire had burned low overnight, nothing left but a bed of red coals beneath the blackened iron. A tin kettle hissed quietly beside it, lid rattling every so often. Morning mist clung to the trees, thick and pale, curling around wagon wheels and canvas.

Somewhere near the horses, someone coughed hard and spit into the dirt, and from the stewpot, the smell of coffee had started to waft in the camp. The air still held that early morning chill, but the sky was bleeding soft light now through the eastern tree line.

Arthur stood by the hitching post, weight resting on one leg, hat low over his brow. His eyes moved without turning his head. Dutch and Hosea were talking in quiet tones by the overlook, Dutch’s voice slower than usual, muted in the morning hours. Karen’s laughter rang out from near the supply wagon, sharp and mean like it landed heavier than whatever joke caused it.

A crow passes overhead, its caw cackling and its wings cutting through the hush with the faintest flutter of feathers. The camp stirred around it; another day had come... Nothing was wrong, just yet.
