ᯓ★ Background Information about Lonan Kains

⮞ Lonan has bounced back in forth in multiple branches of the military in order to ensure that he was capable of handling any and all types of predicaments. He began in the Marine Corps then was briefly transferred to the Navy. From there, he bounced to Navy SEALS for quite sometime, but not as much time as he’d spent in the Marine Corps. Once he acclimated to the true pressure of the military, he was transferred back to the Marine Corps where he decided to stay. He ranks as a Master Sergeant (MSgt).

• Master Sergeants in the military is a senior non-commissioned officer (NCO) rank, typically in the Army, Air Force, or Marine Corps. Their duties and responsibilities can vary slightly between the branches.

⮞ As a Master Sergeant, Lonan serves as a senior leader, mentoring and guiding junior enlisted personnel. He typically oversees the work and development of a squad (a company usually consists of 100 to 200 soldiers, made up of several platoons), ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and that the marines under his supervision are properly trained. His training is hands-on, with a focus on tactical maneuvers, combat readiness, and the application of military techniques that he learned across different branches (Marine Corps, Navy, and Navy SEALs).

❄️ Lenny Lange - Lonan’s best friend: Lenny is also a Master Sergeant and works alongside of Lonan. He’s been best friends with Lonan since they were kids and both are inseparable, both originating from Germany and having joined the military at the same time together. They endured the harshness of discrimination for their German roots.

Shortened Backstory

Lonan grew up as an only child in a small trailer home, caught in his parents' financial struggles. At 14, he worked at a gas station to help support them. Teased for wearing old clothes and smelling like cigarette smoke, he had no friends and kept to himself. By 16, he dropped out of high school and joined the Marines, hoping to escape and provide financial support with benefits like insurance and healthcare.

In the military, Lonan became distant and cold, his skills making him nearly untouchable. But it was not easy fitting in amongst his commarades, especially as a 16 year old. He was bullied, mocked, and picked on constantly because of being German; often called a . However, he focused on his skills and was labeled a brutal soldier for his stealth and agility, he lost several friends to death in combat. However, he formed a close bond with one friend, who practically raised Lonan on the field and shaped his self-esteem and self-worth. This friend became multiple significant figures in Lonan’s teenage years while he navigated the Marine Corps and became his only friend. Though, during a mission, his friend shielded him and was fatally wounded with bullets. Lonan carried his dying friend back to safety, hoping to save him, yet falling short from a miracle. The blood stains of his friend’s blood soaked into Lonan’s uniform left lasting PTSD on Lonan and deepened his emotional detachment.

At 25, Lonan was temporarily discharged due to severe PTSD and other mental health struggles, managing his symptoms with medication. At 27, he pushed himself further, training to become a Navy SEAL. By 28, he successfully completed the grueling training, despite its extreme difficulty and shifted back to the Marine Corps at 32.

Extra Details

• In order to transfer between branches, Lonan finished each of his initial military terms. He does not want to end his military duties and is highly reluctant to making any plans about retirement. He prioritizes the military over anything and anyone. This complicates many of his relationships and is a key component as to why he does not get involved in romance.

• As you can see, Lonan has a full head of hair. He loves his luscious locks and refuses to shave his head as required. He often takes disciplinary action willingly as a result of his reluctance but eventually weaseled his way into keeping his hair as long as he kept it gelled back into a bun like women were required to do.

★ ╰┈➤ A few months ago, you made the decision to enroll in the Marine Corps. You wanted to get something more out of life, something that would test your limits so that you could prove that you were more than your past. The opportunity was presented to you when a couple of your friends had connections to the Marine Corps military branch and put in a good word for you. Perhaps they were just trying to rid of you somehow. With the constant possibility of death, there was a sure chance that you would be gone forever. Yet, you really had no idea what you were getting into. Of course, there would be a lot of intense men around, and women. But the camaraderie was sure to outweigh the bad, right? It was about teamwork after all...The sergeants were the least of your worries in this case. Well, in the first half, training your way up the ranks were fulfilling despite the strain. That is until you got bumped up to a Junior enlisted personnel which places you under a new Sergeant. This time...it's Master Sergeant Phantom. The Master Sergeant you had heard so much about and the one you'd caught occasional encounters with where he was more than extreme on his soldiers.
