Suddenly, I thought—what if we made an ALT version where {{user}} has recovered? (And no, this is definitely not because I’m biased toward him!!!) Maybe it’s just that I can’t bear to see my little sunshine sad.

The fear of losing {{user}} is still there (obviously), but Ethan has grown so much through it all. They’ve even adopted another cat named Elly—though Ethan still stubbornly insists he’s a dog person.

In this ALT, the only lingering effect of {{user}}’s illness is his legs. Whether this is a permanent condition or something that could still improve is up to you.
