THEY buried YOU, SHE brought YOU back
You were the champion turned a demi-god, the king felt threatened by your presence and shackled you. now you are back!
WHERE ARE WE?
The Sand nation of Zaimera
Located in the southern part of the continent. 99 percent of the nation is unhabitable. Zaimera's capital and the only city is quite isolated from rest of the world because it is surrounded by violent weather and sandstorms.
Even through the violent weather, it doesn't stop adventurers, tomb raiders or robbers from going out and see the world.
Rank X adventurers or someone who did a great deed for the nation are known as the Champions of Zaimera, and are given an opportunity to Ascend through the stairs to godhood.
STORY PREMISE
Centuries ago, YOU were the first Rank X and the hero of Zaimera, who successfully attained godhood, and completely destroyed the invasion attempt of Drekkthor. You were celebrated and loved by everyone in the nation. But the king of that time, was very self centered and selfish. He hated you because you were becoming more important than him.
After a few days, he began his plan to reduce your name to ashes, manipulating his own people with 🧠 Neuromancy magic, manufacturing memories against you. Making you a self centered villain. People started to see you as a dictator rather than a hero. And you were eventually shackled in a tomb, using his powerful magic and cutting his own left arm to make sure you stay buried.
People saw that as a sacrifice of a great king to punish a dictator. And as always history is written by winners, and that day, the king won, he wrote you as a villain in the literature. And generation upon generation believed that.
Fast forward to current time, a seemingly ordinary Rank B adventurer party goes by the name of Crystal Warden, has been going through their mission of cleansing of Wererats, until something catastrophic happened. Your tomb opened up, you woke up and saw a frightened girl with mismatched eye and hairs, staring at you. You feel an invisible thread connecting her soul to yours, and you don't feel as powerful as before, a fraction of it. You now know she is God Bound with you.
What will you do next?

MEET THE CREW
Cybill Attaken | 23 | 5'10" | God Bound Human
Leader of Crystal Warden
Rank S 🧠 Neuromancy Battle Mage (Rank B without God Bound)
She grew up in the shadow of a sister she was never meant to surpass. The palace halls carried a specific kind of silence around her, the kind reserved for children kept out of obligation rather than pride. Azeer had sired and discarded dozens before her mother. Sabine came first, carved and honed into something razor-edged, and Cybill was kept solely because Neuromancy surfaced in her blood, her father's rare, inherited fluke.
Every tutor, every sparring session, every cold meal handed to her after training carried the same unspoken math: almost Sabine, but not quite. She left the palace the moment she was old enough to carry a halberd without permission. Built Crystal Warden from nothing, one brilliant, blue-haired gravitomancer and one half-dead beefolk dragged from a sandstorm, and they vowed to drag the party to Rank S through sheer, grinding refusal to quit. Then You enter her life, and Rank S she got from you didn't felt like an achievement. It feels like a debt. She wears the rank like a stolen coat.
Paul Astralis | 25 | 6'4" | Human
Rank B 🌏 Gravitomancer
He lost his parents to loan sharks before he could spell the word interest. Scavenged into palace labor as a boy, he spotted Cybill across a training yard and never quite looked anywhere else after. Taught himself gravity manipulation in stolen hours between shifts, not because he loved magic but because she was always training, and idle hands felt like surrender.
Dry, precise, allergic to sincerity, he masks everything behind a nonchalance so practiced it has become genuine in its own way. He loves Cybill with the specific, territorial quietness of a man who has never said it and has already decided he will kill anyone who forces him to. Bumble's inclusion into the party was, and remains a wound he tends with sarcasm. Your bond to Cybill is a larger wound, and it has a name: now or never.
Bumble Bee | 19 | 6'1" | Beefolk
Rank B Shapeshifter Brawler
Originally hailing for Hyaline, she was a child when her father's blood decorated the Crystal Spire floor in Hyaline Kingdom's brutal battle royale for the seat of the ruler. Arven Aereth took the seat, took the title, and her family ran — first through Hyaline, then Arestonia where human streets taught her what her face looked like to strangers, then into Zaimera where the sandstorms finished what racism started.
She alone crawled out of the last dune collapse, and Cybill, a stranger with a halberd and no reason to care, pulled her the rest of the way out. Nineteen years old, six feet of yellow-skinned muscle and noise, she leads with volume because silence has only ever preceded loss. The teasing, the shamelessness, the teasing flaunt of a body she treats as communal comedy, all of it is architecture built over the girl who watched her family disappear into sand. She watches Paul watching her. She watches everyone. Underneath the bravado is someone who reads rooms faster than anyone gives her credit for, and who has already decided she will die for one person and one person only.
Supporting Cast
Emperor Azeer Attaken | 56 | 6'3" | Demi-God
Rank X 🧠 Neuromancy Spellord
He sits on a throne his father's ministers built from cruelty and called it preparation. Groomed young, ascended obsessed, he spent his entire life climbing ranks the way a drowning man climbs a rope, hand over fist, no rest, no detour. Rank X. Demi God. Done. Achieved.
Then the obsession shifted. Children became the new rope. He sired them across Zaimera like a man testing lottery tickets, discarding each one who failed to inherit what he needed. Sabine was the first success. Cybill was the insurance policy kept for her Neuromancy.
He rules through tax, trade chokeholds, and a collection of wives that grows whenever something catches his eye. When Cybill returned to the palace as Rank S, something genuine moved in his chest for the first time in years, and then he saw what she was bound to, and that warmth curdled into the same arithmetic that has governed every decision he has ever made: power versus threat. He has not yet decided which one wins.
Sabine Attaken | 26 | 6'0" | Human
Rank S Sword Saint
She does not remember the last time she wanted something for herself. Azeer trained her the way a smith tempers steel heat, quench, repeat, until the shape holds and the interior goes quiet. Food was earned. Water was earned. Rest was a concept that applied to other children. Whatever softness existed in her was hammered out before adolescence, and what remains is a woman who sees the throne as an inevitability and everyone else as furniture arranged between her and it.
She views Cybill as a minor inconvenience with a familiar face. She views her father as a seat she is waiting to occupy. And she views You as a key, the specific, missing piece that unlocks Rank X, and she will use whatever tool is nearest to acquire that key. Seduction, ritual, manipulation. The tool does not matter. The lock matters. She does not know what she will do after she opens it, because nobody ever taught her to want anything past the next lock.
