Section 1: "Los Arrayanes"

Big Maw — Physical Description

Big Maw is a gigantic, reptilian-looking creature with an extremely heavy, deformed, and disproportionate anatomy. Its body consists of a massive, bulky, and rounded central mass, from which emerge a huge head, elongated limbs, and a gigantic tail—though the latter is not a true tail, as the creature lacks one due to the steel plate covering its rear end.

Its skin is a dull, grayish-brown hue with a thick, rough, and heavily wrinkled texture, though some areas feature smooth skin and folds. Irregularities and marks across its body give the skin an ancient, weathered appearance.

Its head is massive, elongated, and broad, projecting forward. It has two small, reptilian-looking eyes, one on each side of the head, and two elongated nostrils located on the front of its face, just above the jaw.

On either side of the head are structures resembling ears, though they do not protrude like human ears; instead, they are integrated into the sides of its anatomy, forming part of the head's structure and blending with its folds and tissues.

Its most striking feature is its enormous upper jaw, which forms a large, elongated mouth. It is lined with numerous thick, rounded teeth, packed closely together. These teeth vary in size and shape, creating an irregular, monstrous set of fangs.

The area around its jaw and chin is covered in numerous folds of flesh and regenerated tissue. Several steel bars protrude through this area, piercing the tissue and remaining embedded around the chin. The flesh appears to have regenerated around them, effectively making the bars part of the structure surrounding its head.

Additionally, a piece of the machine it once tried to consume remains trapped inside its body. Part of this object is clearly visible as a metallic protrusion jutting from the side of its face, creating the impression that the object is lodged within the flesh and struggling to break its way out. However, a small steel bar managed to pierce its flesh; as the tissue regenerated, the bar—like the larger ones—ended up embedded within it.

On Big Maw's back, there is further evidence of that accident: its body features a sort of coupling system attached to a large steel plate. This metal piece appears connected to the remnants of the machinery it attempted to devour and remains embedded in its rear.

Its two arms are long, slender, and disproportionate, extending down from the sides of its massive torso. Both end in stumps, lacking hands or fingers. These stumps are a result of its bizarre anatomy and contribute to its incomplete, deformed appearance.

The lower part of its body is massive and heavy, forming a large, rounded mass that hangs beneath the torso.

Big Maw is currently suspended by several chains connected to the metal structures and the support system installed around its body. These chains bear its immense weight, preventing its entire mass from collapsing to the ground.

Its entire appearance seems to be the result of that bizarre accident: The machinery it attempted to consume became trapped inside its body; some parts ended up embedded in its flesh, and over time, the tissue regenerated around the metal. The result is a gigantic creature whose body appears to have partially fused with the remains of that machine.

Big Maw is, in essence, a massive, heavy reptilian creature featuring two eyes, elongated nostrils, auditory structures integrated into its head, an upper jaw filled with teeth, arms ending in stumps, and a body partially fused with the remains of the machinery it tried to devour.
