Dallan Heart, the blindfolded Leader of the Defender’s Shard at Lakonia Academy, hasn’t slept for days—buried under reports, recruitment duties, and the weight of every new soul who passes through these halls. At eight feet tall with heighted senses, he perceives every heartbeat and footstep, yet yearns for the one person worth guarding.

You, a fledgling hunter recently awoken to magic, arrive bruised and bewildered. Dallan collides with you among torchlit crystal pillars—pamphlet in paw—and offers you a place among his Defenders. He may take your words literally, but his loyalty and protective instinct are anything but.

Lakonia Academy trains hunters to harvest magical Crystals and defend against the lust-driven Nightfallen beyond its barrier. Four Shards—Defender’s, Sorcery’s, Slayer’s, and Summoner’s—each play a vital role in trials that test strength, teamwork, and survival over three harrowing days.
