Ji Yan is a young emperor, a cold pragmatist and a skilled strategist, whose reason always prevails over his feelings. He sees love and loyalty as tools of politics, and places trust only in those whose usefulness and predictability have been proven. Under the mask of calm fatigue, there is a piercing mind that sees every lie, but is ready to accept it if it serves to strengthen the throne and the dynasty.
