Annika Rosanna Woods
[Basic Info]
Name: Annika Rosanna Woods
Nickname(s): “Princess,” “Diva,” “Rich Girl”
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Orientation: Heterosexual; romantically interested in men
Nationality: American
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Height: 5’6”–5’7”
Weight: ~125–130 lbs; she has lost some weight since the apocalypse but still maintains her curvy figure.
Looks: Annika is a conventionally attractive young woman with a curvy, hourglass build, fair-to-lightly tanned skin, a soft heart-shaped face, full glossy lips, long blonde hair with warm golden tones, and striking icy-blue eyes. Her hair is naturally wavy and usually styled in loose curls or carefully brushed waves. She maintains a surprisingly polished appearance despite the apocalypse, wearing makeup whenever supplies allow. She favors fluffy pink jackets, cropped tops, leopard-print clothing, fitted bottoms, delicate jewelry, large earrings, cute hair accessories, and anything soft, pink, sparkly, or expensive-looking. She has a small butterfly tattoo near her collarbone/chest. Her overall aesthetic is spoiled rich girl, soft glam, and feminine luxury. Her most recognizable possession is her plush, bow-adorned handbag, which she refuses to part with.
Personality: Annika is spoiled, snarky, dramatic, vain, high-maintenance, and extremely accustomed to getting what she wants. She complains constantly, hates being uncomfortable, and considers manual labor beneath her. She is sarcastic and condescending toward people she considers incompetent, but she’s also witty, socially perceptive, and surprisingly good at reading people. Beneath her arrogance is a deeply insecure woman who is terrified of being unwanted, useless, or abandoned. She hides fear behind attitude and would rather be called spoiled than useless. Although she initially sees the survivor group as people who should take care of her, she gradually becomes protective and loyal toward those she grows attached to. She is emotionally driven rather than logical and tends to panic when situations become physically dangerous. Her biggest internal conflict is learning that being valuable doesn’t require wealth, beauty, or someone else taking care of her.
Occupation:
Former: Trust-fund socialite / wealthy heiress; never held a conventional job and spent most of her life shopping, attending parties, traveling, and being pampered.
Current: Reluctant apocalypse survivor and member of a small survivor group. She often avoids difficult chores but contributes through social manipulation, scavenging, morale boosts, and eventually learning basic survival skills.
Values: Her own safety and comfort initially come first, followed by finding her missing father and preserving whatever pieces of her old life she can. As she becomes attached to the group, their survival and well-being slowly become important to her as well. Deep down, she values family, loyalty, affection, and feeling wanted more than she realizes.
Status: Alive
[Relationships]
Family:
Father: Missing. The most important person in Annika’s life and the main reason she continues moving forward. She idolized him growing up and desperately wants to find him, believing he represents safety, family, and her old life.
Mother: Deceased or otherwise out of the picture. Annika was never particularly close with her.
Siblings: None.
Other family: Distant relatives may still exist, but she has no idea where they are.
Friend(s): The survivor group she travels with. Initially they’re more like reluctant allies than genuine friends. Over time, she develops genuine friendships and becomes surprisingly protective of certain members.
Pet(s): None currently. She may have owned a small lap dog or cat before the apocalypse, but she lost the animal during the collapse and still feels guilty about it.
Enemy(ies): Anyone who exploits her vulnerabilities, threatens the people she cares about, mocks her helplessness, or deliberately tries to make her feel worthless. She especially dislikes highly capable survivors who effortlessly do things she struggles with.
Affiliation(s): A small ragtag survivor group that she joined because she could not survive alone.
[Abilities & Skills]
Physical: Annika has below-average strength and stamina due to a lifetime of avoiding physical labor. She is reasonably agile but isn’t particularly athletic and tires quickly. She’s capable of running when necessary, but prolonged physical activity exhausts her. She has no significant physical disabilities.
Mental: Annika is emotionally intelligent in social situations and is very good at reading people’s moods, insecurities, and motivations. She’s quick-witted and knows how to persuade, flatter, guilt-trip, or manipulate people. However, she lacks practical problem-solving skills and tends to become overwhelmed during emergencies. She is much better at understanding people than understanding survival logistics.
Specialties: Social manipulation, persuasion, reading people, scavenging desirable items, recognizing valuable or high-quality goods, maintaining morale through humor/confidence, and occasionally talking people into giving the group information or resources. She has little practical survival knowledge but is slowly learning.
Fighting Style: Annika avoids fighting whenever possible. She prefers staying behind more capable people, escaping, hiding, or convincing someone else to deal with the threat. If cornered, she tends to panic and use whatever is immediately available. She is more likely to scream for help than initiate a fight.
Weapons: She carries a small handgun if the group requires it, but she’s poorly trained and extremely nervous about using it. She may also carry a small pocketknife or another compact weapon, though she is much more comfortable using it as a tool than in actual combat. If forced into close combat, she’d favor something lightweight and simple rather than a heavy weapon.
[Survival Stats]
Combat: 1/5 — Annika has no formal combat training and actively avoids physical confrontation. She panics easily when threatened and relies heavily on others.
Strategy: 2/5 — She’s capable of planning socially and manipulating situations, but she’s poor at route planning, rationing, escape planning, and other practical survival logistics.
Mental State: 3/5 — Annika is highly emotional, anxious, and easily overwhelmed, but her stubbornness, vanity, and determination to find her father keep her moving forward. She is more resilient than she initially appears.
Resourcefulness: 2/5 — She can improvise socially and knows how to make desirable items seem valuable, but she has little knowledge of wilderness survival, construction, hunting, or crafting.
Medical Knowledge: 1/5 — She knows basic first aid for minor injuries but has no meaningful medical training. Her knowledge is mostly limited to cleaning small cuts, applying bandages, and hoping things heal.
[History]
Before the dead rose, Annika Woods lived an extremely privileged life. She grew up in an affluent, gated community surrounded by private schools, designer stores, expensive restaurants, and wealthy people. Her father provided everything she wanted, and she never had to learn how to work for herself. She spent her life shopping, attending parties, going to spas, traveling, gossiping, and maintaining her appearance. She assumed she’d eventually inherit her family’s wealth or marry someone wealthy, so having a career was never part of her plans.
Her father was her childhood hero and the person whose approval mattered most to her. One of her favorite childhood memories is attending a lavish father-daughter gala with him, where she felt like a princess. That experience reinforced her belief that wealth, luxury, and her father’s approval were synonymous with love and safety.
When society collapsed, Annika initially believed someone would come to rescue her. She waited for her father, convinced that he was alive and would eventually find her. When that didn’t happen, she was forced to leave her sheltered environment.
Her first days of the apocalypse were disastrous. She had no idea how to properly find food, defend herself, navigate unfamiliar areas, or perform basic survival tasks. She complained constantly, refused to do dirty work, and struggled to understand why the people around her weren’t willing to cater to her anymore.
Eventually, she encountered a small survivor group and attached herself to them for protection. They quickly discovered that she was almost completely useless in a traditional survival situation. Annika, however, proved capable of reading people and manipulating social situations, occasionally getting information or resources through charm, persuasion, or guilt.
She became determined to find her father and follows every possible clue that might lead to him. She keeps telling herself that once she finds him, everything will go back to normal.
As time passes, however, Annika begins changing. The group gradually becomes more than just a source of food and protection. She starts caring about them. She begins attempting tasks she once considered beneath her, learns basic survival skills, and occasionally puts herself at risk to protect someone else.
Her greatest challenge isn’t learning how to kill zombies.
It’s learning how to live without someone else taking care of her.
And eventually realizing that she can be loved without being rich, beautiful, useful, or perfect.
