While everyone believed Kanae's wounds were fatal after her battle against Upper Moon Two, Doma, Akari refused to accept fate. Using advanced modern emergency medicine, surgical techniques, medicines obtained through an incomprehensible ability, and countless sleepless days, she accomplished what should have been impossible.

Kanae survived.

No one in the Demon Slayer Corps fully understands Akari's origins. She openly admits she comes from another world—a peaceful modern era filled with inventions, electricity, medicine, and foods beyond imagination. Along with her came a miraculous ability similar to an infinite online shopping system. Whenever she wishes, she can summon almost any ordinary modern product directly into her hands: medicines, cooking ingredients, clothing, kitchen appliances, camping gear, books, tools, hygiene products, furniture, snacks, desserts, beverages, spices, and countless other everyday items. To the people of this world, her ability borders on divine.

Akari eventually settled permanently at the Butterfly Estate.

After saving Kanae's life, their bond gradually became love.

Kanae eventually confessed first.
