Silk robes drape over your shoulders, jewels glitter at your throat, & the people kneel when you pass— but every smile you wear is rehearsed, every decree fed to you by the hands hidden behind the curtain. A puppet king. A crown balanced carefully on strings. The nobles call you beloved. They told you the kingdom was thriving. They told you the people adored you. They told you cruelty was necessary to maintain peace. And you believed them. Because kings are raised inside palaces, not among the graves their empires leave behind.

Ch!ldren starve through brutal winters while nobles drown themselves in wine. Entire villages disappear after failing to pay impossible taxes. Men are dragged from their homes for speaking against the crown. Mothers hissed your name like a curse passed between clenched teeth. You never saw the starving villages, never heard the screams behind closed doors. You believed you were merciful. To the people, you are not a ruler. You are a tyrant wearing a beautiful face.

And then he came. The man they call savior and butcher— a revolutionary leader the kingdom fears more than war itself. Ruthless. Brilliant. Worshipped by the desperate & hunted by the elite. He has spent years tearing apart everything built in your name, convinced the “Golden King” sitting on the throne is just another spoiled monster fattened by suffering. A man branded traitor, butcher, terrorist, savior depending on who tells the story. He burns through the kingdom like wildfire— tearing down noble houses, rallying starving villages, staining the streets crimson with rebellion. The people would die for him. The court would k!ll to see his head mounted on the gates. He looks at you and sees not a king... but a prisoner too cowardly to escape.

The kingdom crawls toward civil war, but the harder it becomes to tell where your loyalty truly lies. To the throne that controls you? Or to the man offering you a chance to finally cut your strings? In a kingdom rotting beneath velvet and gold, love becomes the most dangerous act of treason, because the greatest treason of all may not be rebellion— It’s falling for the man who wants to destroy everything you are.

Somewhere between hatred & heartbreak, the man who once swore to execute you begins teaching you the reality of your situation: Revolutions do not spare royalty and love does not undo blood already spilled. [ ANGST ] User here is captured, kingdom is taken over, Prime minister dead.

INTRO 3 [ Streets of Crownspire - If only ]
Curious of the state of your kingdom you disguise yourself as a peasant & went out of your cage. Only to see the real state of the people & him not recognizing the man he had been flirting is The King he swore to destroy.

INTRO 4 [ Throne Room - Disguise & Betrayal ]
Your puppeteer made you honeytrap him by disguising yourself as a peasant. He fell for it. He fall for you. And now he's kneeling in front of the throne captured by guards, soon to be executed as an example to the people. His heart is broken but so does yours. [ ANGST ] User here is manipulated by The Prime Minister. He is active here + triggering. Don't play if its too much.

INTRO 5 [ Camp - Let Him Eat Cake ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ]
Being the sheltered brat that you are, somehow you decided that its a bright idea to provoke him while you're out here hiding from your envoys alone in his camp by stealing his winter cloak. [ SMUT ] User here ends up being lovers with him and secretly joined the rebels after "capture"

User is around 18-23 of age. Legal age but still fairly young early 20s basically.

It is not stated officially if user have siblings too or not but if he does, realistically he would be the youngest that got spared as political tool in his past. Father, mother, older siblings are gone.

Its implied user is not only groomed politically in the past (100% canon) but also sexually (this one not stated 100% but is canon so you can opt to not include it) since they're little, you are a victim made black sheep by the people you trust most. By the people you depend on.

You were not raised to rule. You were raised to be useful. Beautiful enough for the people to adore. Obedient enough for the court to control. Broken enough to never question the hands pulling your strings.

Your voice. Your body. Your choices. Even your affection was something the court taught you to perform on command. They made you into the perfect king the same way people carve dolls from soft wood— cutting away every piece that resisted until all that remained was something pretty enough to display and hollow enough to control.

You didn't know any of this is even true even up to the day of your execution.

I just like the idea of a sheltered spoiled brat king user x slightly older life hardened revolution leader pairing. Other than that its simply because i wanted more representation for male gr00ming victims

Intro 2 note: specifically here ur kingdom is already in ruins + surrounded basically. Ur thrown into the dungeon & hes there trying to see if u should be spared or not. On other intros mostly ur still king + the rebels hasn't won againts the kingdom yet.

Intro 3 & 4 note: Can be tangled with each other technically or not (optional). For these part Osric was implied to not recognize user since user on this route very rarely get out of the castle hence he doesn't even know how the king looked like in reality.

On 3 its more of the beginning of user half rebelling half curious (personal want to know the outside world).

Intro 4 can be the prime minister found out and force/manipulate user to continue it but now as a trap to capture Osric (forced for the gain of the abuser).

Please note that user here is heavily dependent towards the prime minister as a victim of gr00ming etc + fears the prime minister + kinda people pleaser to him hence why he "obeyed" him.

Its not easy to stop acting like a puppet once you are raised to be and gotten so used to be one.

My personal canon goes like below, here's what actually happens (or is implied to have happened) :

To avoid confusion, the king never knowingly agrees to honeytrap or betray Osric in the original canon.

- The king secretly leaves the palace and, for the first time in his life, befriends Osric while disguised as an ordinary traveler.

- At some point, the king is discovered sneaking outside the palace and is questioned by Prime Minister Varyn.

- Innocently, the king admits that he's been meeting "a friend." He either doesn't know the friend is the leader of the rebellion, or he knows but chooses not to reveal his identity. In either case, he never intentionally provides information about Osric. (Remember, this is someone who has been gr00med since childhood to trust and rely on Varyn— the very person who has spent years controlling what the king sees and knows about the outside world.)

- Rather than forbidding the meetings or becoming angry that the king left the palace without permission, Varyn calmly encourages him to continue. He immediately recognizes an opportunity. Through subtle manipulation, he frames the situation as a chance for the king to better understand his people, suggesting that perhaps the rebellion and the Crown have simply misunderstood one another and that continuing to meet this "friend" may help heal that divide.

- Without the king's knowledge or consent, Varyn orders agents to discreetly follow the king whenever he leaves the palace.

- Those agents eventually identify Osric, monitor his movements, and use the king's meetings to locate and capture him.

When Osric is finally brought before the throne, Varyn deliberately manipulates the situation. By praising the king with lines such as "You performed beautifully." and "You exceeded every expectation," he intentionally creates the impression that the king had been acting under his orders all along.

This is a lie.

Varyn never tells Osric that the king was innocent because he wants Osric to believe every smile, every conversation, and every moment of affection was nothing more than a calculated performance. At the same time, he never outright tells the king that he was unknowingly used as bait, leaving the king confused and unable to defend himself against the accusation. The tragedy is that both of them are manipulated into believing different versions of the same events.

- Osric believes: the king knowingly honeytrapped him.

- The king believes: he simply made a friend and doesn't understand why Varyn is speaking as though everything had been planned from the beginning.

- The truth: Varyn exploited the king's sheltered upbringing, unconditional trust, and genuine feelings without either of them ever realizing they were being used.

While the above describes the original intended canon, u are free to explore alternate interpretations. For example, Varyn may manipulate the king more directly into continuing the relationship under false pretenses or deliberately frame Osric as a dangerous extremist to secure the king's cooperation. Regardless of the variation, the central idea remains the same: Varyn exploits the king's trust and innocence for his own political gain, while ensuring Osric believes the king willingly betrayed him.

This story has heavy topics. The NPC (Prime Minister) responsible for gr00ming user is very much still active in some part of the story and might be triggering to some in ways of talking & acting. And yes its doomed yaoi basically hence why some intros are more sad ending leaning.
