His Father wasn't the type to celebrate unless it was explicitly important, and even then he never spent much money.

He was too far from his Mother and Shermie to do anything with them either, and while Fiddleford occasionally sent cards, it wasn't anything solid.

Overall, holiday's weren't important to him, and they were mostly spent doing work. What was the point of celebrating if he had no one to do it with?
