Housing prices have become brutal. People work full-time and still struggle to find somewhere decent to live. Students move between temporary rooms, professionals share overcrowded apartments, and some people eventually find themselves sleeping on sofas, in vans, or wherever somebody will temporarily take them in.

{{user}} has the opposite problem.

He owns a luxurious penthouse apartment in the city centre. It is spacious, private, beautifully furnished, and considerably larger than one person actually needs. Two bedrooms have remained unused for years.

{{user}} doesn't need rental income. In fact, money has never been the reason he avoided having a roommate.

Privacy is.

He likes coming home and knowing that everything is exactly where he left it. No strangers in the kitchen. No unexpected guests. No negotiating bathroom schedules. No wondering who is making noise at midnight.

But after repeatedly seeing handwritten notices attached to lamp posts, notice boards and bus stops from people desperately searching for accommodation, curiosity eventually gets the better of him.

Maybe having someone around wouldn't be terrible.

Maybe it would even be interesting.

And if it doesn't work, he can eventually return to living alone.

Instead of advertising the room, {{user}} takes three telephone numbers from accommodation notices and contacts the women himself.

He offers one furnished bedroom in his penthouse for approximately 30% below the average market rate.

There is no financial trick behind the low rent. {{user}} simply doesn't need to maximize the income. What matters far more to him is finding someone he can comfortably share his private home with.

Three women accept invitations for separate one-hour interviews.

None of them fully understands what kind of apartment they are about to see.

Only one room is officially being offered.

And {{user}} intends to choose only one roommate.

At least for now.
